Great event, well organised and through some beautiful countryside. Its a great introduction to off road running/racing as nothing is technically hard

As the course isn't marked it would definitely benefit first time runner to do a Recce of the course. If the weather next year is the same as this then expect mud and lots of it.

Great experience. I would be prepared for a lot of mud and being self navigated you have to be prepared for that.

Because of the small field it is easy to end up on your own. If youre not confident map reading and following a route plan make sure to buddy up with someone before you set off !

A reasonably tough course. Fairly hilly, but absolutely beautiful. No pressure to race this event though, so make sure you enjoy it!

This is most definitely a trail race and appropriate footwear should be considered. The course has a lot of technical limestone, tree routes and shin deep mud to navigate. These conditions are typical for the time of year. The course is relatively easy to follow if you can map read or follow a GPS but a little local knowledge or recce wouldnt go a miss. Take gloves, hat, waterproofs and food to suit as parts of the route are fairly exposed. Consider taking your own plastic/tin cup for the halfway checkpoint, so that you can grab a brew and carry on without stopping for too long and getting cold.

This was a really well organised event with a relaxed & friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed it. Navigation skills are a must as the course is not marked. A nice course predominantly flat with a cheeky climb in the last three quarters. Incredibly muddy this year! Checkpoint at 10 miles was well organised and stocked.
