Route information
Entrants will complete as many ascents and descents of Snowdon as possible within 24 hours. The route takes you from Llanberis village up and down the path to complete a 15k out and back route, past Half Way House, Allt Moses, Clogwyn Bridge and almost to the summit of Snowdon.
Runners must complete the whole lap for it to count towards their total, and in the case of a tie, the tiebreak will be the quickest number of ascents and descents.

Llanberis train station is the closest to the event site and is less than a 5 minute from the event site, with the closest large train station being approximately a 20-minute drive to the event.
Event day logistics
12:00 Race starts
Exact timings and locations will be confirmed in the final race day instructions 10 days before the event.
Registration
Registration will take place on the day before the race and the day before on the event field in Llanberis next to the Community Centre. Registration will close 15 minutes before the race starts.
Age Requirements
All entrants must be 18 and older to take part in the event.
Kit List
All competitors must carry the following kit at the event. There will be spot checks in place and those not with the correct kit will not be allowed to participate.
Mandatory Kit List
  • Wind proof full body cover - windproof jacket windproof trousers full lengths arms and legs
  • Suitable off road running shoes - fell/trail shoes
  • Insulating hat and gloves (head and hand cover)
  • Whistle
  • Emergency food (Minimum 750 calories, the equivalent of approximately 4 HIGH5 Energy bars)
  • Bumbag/race vest
  • Foil blanket
  • Spare water
  • Suntan lotion
  • You must carry a head torch with sufficient battery life throughout the race, it must be worn/switched on between the hours of 10pm-5am
Advisory Kit
  • GPS device (watch with route downloaded)
  • Mobile telephone
  • Extra long sleeved warm layer
  • Compass & map (If you know how to use them)
  • Poles (we permit people to use poles)
Prizes
There will be a prize-giving after the event and approximate timings will be detailed in the Final Instructions.
The prizes on offer will be as follows:
  • Most number of Ascents and Descents - Male and Female
  • Most number of Ascents and Descents - Male, Female and Mixed Pairs
  • Most number of Ascents and Descents Para Team.
  • Most number of Ascents and Descents Team - Team of 3, 4 and 5.
Individuals, pairs and teams can set the goal of achieving one of the following awards. Awards will take the shape of a unique local slate which marks the highest level achieved.
  • 3 times ascend and descend – Snowdon Triple Award
  • 5 times ascend and descend – Mont Blanc Award
  • 7 times ascend and descend – Kilimanjaro Award
  • 10 times ascend and descend – the ultimate Everest Award
Rest Areas
Confirmed details will be outlined in the Final Instructions available 10 days before the event.
  • Solo competitors will be given space to leave kit and rest if necessary in the communal chill out zone
  • If solo competitors wish to have a space to pitch their own shelter, they will be given a space in the team/pairs respite area - max dimensions 1.5m x 2.5m (2-person tent)
  • Pairs will be given space to pitch a maximum of one shelter per pair, max dimensions 1.5m x 2.5m (2-person tent)
  • Teams will be given space to pitch a maximum of one shelter per team, max dimensions 3m x 3.5m (3 person tent)
  • Pairs and teams will be required to provide their own shelter. Shelters can include tents, bivvys etc. Provision for caravans and camper vans will not be included, but can be found locally at the cost of the participant. Vehicles will not be allowed on the respite area
  • The main respite area is located close to residential areas. Therefore, the respite area will be a SILENT zone at all times, with NO MUSIC or noise at all between the hours of 9pm and 8am
  • Athletes will be instructed to be respectful of other competitors and local residents. Security will be on site at the respite areas to police this
  • Absolutely no campfires or cooking/stoves will be allowed in the dedicated respite areas, and use of any such devices will result in immediate disqualification from the event. An area for cooking will be provided

All mandatory kit can be found listed until "Raceday'. There will be spot checks to ensure all participants have the correct kit with them.

Yes, there will be an area provided for cooking by the event organisers. No campfires or cooking/stoves will be allowed in the rest areas.
