Course Details

Steeped in history, St Clere was once owned by the father of Henry VIII’s second wife Anne Boleyn and has hosted visits from the likes of Mozart and Jane Austen.

The site is only 40 minutes by train from central London and within sight of the M25, so it promises to please weekend warriors, trail hunters and obstacle racers alike. Situated on the scenic North Downs and known for its rolling hills – this beautiful yet challenging course will be host to a Sprint and Kids distance. Plus, new for this year, we’ve added a Super to give you more opportunity to go for the hallowed Trifecta! This event is set to be bigger and better and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store.

Our St Clere race weekend gets bigger and better every year as we prepare for the exciting new season ahead. Expect some mixed terrain and some technical running that will challenge everyone from the Elites to the Open waves. Expect lots of hills and mud!

Sprint 3 mi / 5 km, 20 Obstacles
The Spartan Sprint puts endurance aside and tests your quickness through 5 km loaded with 20 Obstacles. A great starter distance for beginners, or a perfect test against time for the more advanced racer.

Super 8 mi / 13 km, 25 Obstacles
The Spartan Super is as much mental as it is physical, spanning over 13 km that are just as unforgiving as the 25 Obstacles that litter the distance.”

Kids 1.5 km
That’s right kids can race too. Every course is unique and designed to make the most of local trails and forest but you can guarantee there will be a wide variety of obstacles.

FAQs

Will there be showers available?
Cold showers are provided outdoors at the races, so you can wash off all of that mud!

Are Dogs Allowed at the Race?
No. Sorry, pets are not allowed at any of the venues. However, with proper documentation, Service Animals can be admitted.

Can I skip an obstacle? Is there a penalty?
NO. Spartans don't skip obstacles, we overcome them!
We strongly discourage skipping obstacles without attempting them, as it is unfair to others that do attempt them. Plus, aren't the obstacles the point of doing an obstacle course race?

Is there a spectator fee?
No, come and watch the fun for free!

Are there water stations on course?
water and aid stations on every course. The Super have up to 4 aid stations.

What if there is a water obstacle and I can't swim?
Talk to the Spartan Official manning that obstacle for options like: completing it with a life vest, or skipping the obstacle and completing penalty burpees.

Bag drop?

Bag drop on site.
