Spartan Race – Wales routes

Sprint

The Sprint is a 5km course on uneven and rugged terrain. Although this is a short distance race, it is packed full of challenges. 20 obstacles will test you and drain you, but will ultimately leave you with a smile on your face.

Super

The super is a tough mixture of distance and speed, designed to push you to your limits. It is 13km long and has 25 energy sapping obstacles in your way.

Kids

Time to put down the electronics and put yourself through a real test. Many of the signature obstacles will challenge you to complete things you thought far beyond you.

The kids course varies in distance depending on age

  • 4-6: 800-1000m
  • 7-9:1600-2400m
  • 10-14: 3200-4500m

Raceday Logistics

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

  • 0700: Registration opens (please ensure you arrive 1.5hrs before your start time)
  • 0800: Elite Male Start
  • 0815: Elite Female Start
  • 0830: Age Group Males
  • 0845: Age Group Female
  • 1000-1300: Morning Heats
  • 1315-1700: Afternoon Heats

ARRIVAL

  • Once you arrive please head to the registration tent near the entrance of the festival area.
  • If you have not done so already please sign your Spartan Participant Waiver.
    One of our volunteers they will check you in and then give you your race packet
  • At your start time, head over to the start area.
  • Get running!
Kit List

Remember to bring:

  • Your photo ID
  • Barcode (print or save your registration barcode to your phone)
  • Change of clean/dry clothes
  • Towel
  • Optional hydration packs
  • Bag for your muddy clothes/shoes
  • Cash

What to wear:

  • Spartan has no dress code.
  • You will be running through the trees, crawling under barbed wire, running through mud and water.
  • Elite athletes recommend that you wear performance gear (not cotton), compression underwear, water packs and race food.
  • You can also visit the Spartan Shop to get yourself kitted out and branded up in all of the amazing Spartan merchandise for race day!
Spectators

Entrance for spectators is free so you will be able to get a front row seat for all the action. You will receive entry to the festival area, the festival obstacles and you will have a great view of the start & finish lines.

Volunteers

Spartan are always looking for people to volunteer. You will get the chance to meet the great team and experience the mud, sweat and tears of those competing.

For your help you will also receive a free race pass, a t shirt and food!

FAQs

Will there be showers available?
You will be able to wash off all that mud as cold showers are provided outdoors at the race.

Are Dogs Allowed at the Race?
Unfortunately pets are not allowed at the venue. However, if you have the proper documentation, Service Animals can be admitted.

Can I skip an obstacle? Is there a penalty?
NO! Spartans don't skip obstacles, they overcome them!
It is highly discouraged to skip the obstacles without attempting them. It is not fair on others who do attempt them. Also, aren't the obstacles the point of doing an obstacle course race?

Are there water stations on course?
There are water and aid stations available

Bag drop?

There will be a bag drop available on site.

    This was the perfect distance for me and it was an amazing experience. I wanted to take part in something that would really push me and be a real challenge, well this was it! I got a real sense of achievement finishing this race!
