Speedway 10K - Running in Beachley

A great event overall. No faffing around waiting to start, course was well marshalled and accurate distance markers. Nice flat route with few sharp turns as well. A very high-quality field as well, so race gives you the best chance of getting a PB. Great pre and post race atmosphere, with free cake and coffee after for everyone to enjoy and discuss the race! Best 10k I've taken part in, can have no complaints whatsoever! 

Fast, no frills race for club runners. Great course and organisation. Almost all profit is given as prize money.

Great! Cheap entry. Flat course and well organised. Stacked field with a small race feel. Nothing fancy but gets the job done perfectly.

The course is really good, flat and quick. Not many bends but there are a few which stop the course getting full marks. Great standard of runners to compete with. There was a few car parked up and leaving after a football match towards the end which didn't effect me much because the marshals had control. Being as it's by the sea you may get more wind than in a town or city. As there were 2 loops there was good support but as the field was only 160 odd there was as much as a atmosphere as a big event like Cardiff 10k which can't be helped but hopefully the event will keep growing year on year. Thought it was a really good event and will definitely  return in future.

The pre race info made it clear that this was a for runners by runners.  Simple registration, low cost, and to top it off a great fast course.  Everyone I meet was very friendly and looking forward to a good race nice and early in the year.  Got a PB so toped off a great Sunday morning 

The short version: Old School racing in the modern world, go hard or go home, new year, new PB. A race for racers. Bare bones. No fluff, t-shirts, medals, goody bags. A flat, fast course with PB potential. Chip timing. One water station. It’s about going out and getting the job done with a load of other people who want to run fast.
