Welcome to home of the BRUTAL 10k, off road challenges across the toughest courses in the country. No gimmicky flames and barbed wire or fake ice cubes and hay bales, just the hardest routes across the wildest of countryside.

Our BRUTAL run courses are designed by British Army officers. These running experts know what you’re looking for and each BRUTAL run route delivers a gentle blend of hard running and tough racing. All in all, the BRUTAL series of runs are great fun for all abilities – always safety tested on the morning before the race even if only to break the ice for you.

Spider Hill – Brutal 10K route

A single 10k lap route has a gentle run out to a steep climb, before heading up and out into the open through a series of climbs and a couple of marshes, to the 5km point. The course then takes you into the wet section for the first cooling marsh. Survive that and in quick succession it’s into Alligator Swamp followed by Swan Lake. Drop down onto the Muddy Mile with two steep climb outs, there is a view for many miles at the 8km point should you require a breather! Next head for the Duck Pond and a wee bit more wet, onto a very steep short uphill followed by a fast decent onto another couple of testing hills before heading back to the finish. This is our wettest BRUTAL race of the year. Enjoy!

Other important Information

Please note, for insurance purposes, we only allow those 13 years old and over to race.

If you are unable to race do not give your entry to another person. There are several reasons for this. 1. We need runners to sign our Terms and Conditions. 2. With incorrect emergency contact details we won’t be able to inform family should an accident occur. 3. You will make the event’s results incorrect and delay everyone receiving their finish times and places.

Fun race, but be prepared to get a bit dirty! it was quite wet out there, especially on the downhill bits. as long as you have the right footwear, you'll have a great time!

Course was brilliant - challenging but so rewarding! I've only done 1 mud run in the past, so this was a step up in difficulty but I still enjoyed it. I'll be back next year!

Another great race from brutal run, they really know how to put on a nice event although it was quite a trek to get there
  • Did the 10K in 2019

Had a lot of fun this year, would definitely recommend Brutal run to anyone who likes the challenge of mud runs without a lot of the extra faff they usually come with.

Never done one of these before but it was great! I only did the 5 mile, but it was definitely difficult enough. Think I should have brought better shoes, mine were almost destroyed by the end, so make sure you take something tough. One complaint was the race was hard to find, could have used some better signs!

I know the area well, so felt well prepared!

Postcode wasn't correct so got lost trying to find the event. A couple of signs would have been handy. Couldn't fault the course.

I absolutely loved it! My third Brutal race of the year (4th in total), and already looking forward to Longmoor again. Hope more people sign up for the 10 miler this time, as so many people last year just did the 5 mile. Come on people, push yourself!

Ive run a few Brutals. Never fail to please. Always some interesting surprises. Probably my favourite events. Inov-8 Mud Claw handled the course really well. Definitrly go for a chunky OCR shoe

Another great Brutal race full of hills, mud, water and competitive runners. Looking forward to picking up my gold medal on the 29th Dec, 6 out of 6 for 2018! Well done organisers
