Course Type: Open Water
This open-water swimming event is set on the privately owned estate surrounding the historic Staunton Harold Hall. Entrants will swim in the picturesque lake on the grounds, tackling distances from 500m all the way up to 4k.
The Staunton Harold Swim Challenge is set on a privately - owned estate in the stunning surroundings of Staunton Harold Hall, providing the perfect backdrop for a fun and enjoyable open water swim in the estate's tranquil lake.
You'll receive a bespoke designed Swim Challenge Eco Medal as part of your entry and there is an option to purchase your organic cotton Swim Challenge tee at check out.
Idyllic Lake Side Camping - Why not spend the weekend with us? Your camping spot enjoys stunning views across the lake up to the Hall, also prime location to watch the Triathlon and Swim Challenge over the weekend.
Camping available Friday and/or Saturday evening:
Lake side pitch (size for 4 person tent)
or camper (car park if weather is poor)
£30 per night (£55 for 2 nights)

Please note Individual children competing can only compete up to 1km individually but can form a relay team to compete in all the other events.
Distances - for everyone whether in a team or as an individual
​500m - Ideal preparation for the Sprint Triathlon on the Sunday or for first timers.
1km - A nice challenge for those new to open water swimming.
2km - Ideal preparation for half Ironman/70.3 Triathlon events.
3km - A good individual or Team Relay challenge.
4km - Perfect Preparation for all those who have signed up for Ironman events.

↠ Only one person from each team will be expected to register.
↠ There will be a changeover zone for relay teams. This will be explained at Registration and again at the Briefing.
Open Water Swimming practice:
These swim sessions allow you to swim in the lake you will be competing in, fully marshalled by our swim safety team and our head coach with be on hand in the kayak to give you any support and tips should you need it.

❗Limited to 30 Swimmers each session. We are limited to only 2 practice swim sessions at this venue so please book on early to avoid disappointment.
These sessions are open to all ages and abilities. (Children will be briefed before entering the lake and accompanied on the water by a BTF Level 2 Coach)

Car parking will be available in the field of hope – signposted. Entry to the estate is free, however, please note you will need £2 for parking
Camping is available meters away from the lake and surrounded by this historic, intimate and atmospheric venue. One of the most stunning stately homes in the UK.

↠ Please pick up your Race Packs from Registration
Saturday Registration Opens: 12pm
↠ Your Race pack will include race numbers, luggage stickers, wrist band. (This will be checked on entry to the swim holding area)
↠ 2 x Timing chips will be handed over at Registration also.

Bag Drop Zone - will be connected to Registration; please ensure you have attached your Baggage Label (to be detached from your Race Number) and hand over to the persons behind Registration.
↠ Recovery of your bag will require you to show your race number.
*Please arrive at least 45-60 minutes before the start of your race to allow plenty of time to park, register, get changed, stretch and warm up.
PLEASE NOTE: Times depend on number of entries, your final start time and Event Day Logistics will be finalised 7-10 days before the race.
As part of our T&C’s we do NOT issue refunds/transfers if you no longer can make the event due to a change in start times or delayed starts.
The start times will NOT change drastically from the times listed.

What is the best race at the Staunton Harold Swim Challenge to enter if I am prepping for a half ironman?
The 2k swim is recommended by Endorphin Sport as the best race to enter as preparation for a half ironman.
Will there be showers and changing facilities at the Staunton Harold Swim Challenge event?
There will be no changing facilities on site. The Showers are only open to campers.
Will there be parking at the Staunton Harold Swim Challenge event?
Yes, there is a car park available at the venue.
Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
Wetsuits are optional as are tow floats.
Is there a cut off time?
No cut off time at our events. As part of our ethos we believe cut off times, for some, can have a negative impact and put unwanted and unnecessary pressure on the experience. We want you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the experience.
