I can't believe any of the five star reviews are genuine. Truly one of the worst events I've participated in - for a multitude of reasons. The course was significantly biased towards uneven, rutted ground - with very few signposts/markers. An example being that when going around the extra loop for the half marathon, runners were left to follow the approximate outline of various fields - no markers at the corners to indicate correct course length. I tracked it at an additional half mile. For the sake of a few extra arrows, it would have made the course a lot less stressful for runners. The directions, as mentioned in another review were poor - no coordinates or whatthreewords, only a postcode which by unfortunate coincidence, when followed on Google maps took you to an entrance which was appeared to be to the Shuttlewoorth aerodrome, but was actually inaccessible to runners. This wasted time before the race and I was left with less time to prepare and warm up. I personally don't like wooden medals, but understand that some people do. The buff was a nice touch at the end. Honestly, for the sake of a properly measured and signposted course, published in advance so runners can have an honest idea of the terrain and profile would raise this event significantly. Personally, I won't be returning to give it a second chance.

The actual route was not described sufficiently. All posts prior to run stated running along the Shuttleworth paths, making most runners believe it would be actually around the beautiful Shuttleworth estate grounds paths. Instead it was 100% cross country across fields with no connection to the Shuttleworth estate grounds. I feel like I was sold a false route.

Poor organisation. Only one water station. Inspite of assurance that I can do the half marathon distance instead of the booked marathon distance, the results came as dnf. Inspite of numerous emails nothing happened. I guess same with this feedback. Check out for facts if you are really keen to improve the organisation. Rajesh Logasundaram.

Route was good and challenging. A number of people commented that it was tough, but I really enjoyed it. All was well organised and it felt a very relaxed event.I would definitely do this again.

Location awesome! Toilet facilities were clean and I liked the women only toilet! Registration was straight forward! Fantastic course! Stunning grounds to enjoy! Water station was in a good location on the course but it would of been nice to have a cheeky sweet option other than water especially for the longer distance runners. Marshals… although there to do a job in keeping us safe there wasn’t many shout outs to runners other than a guy in the woods with his cute dog. Having ran many events it’s really key to keeping runners motivated with supportive shoutouts and I felt this was lacking. At the marshal point where the 5k and 10k separate off I think the signage could have been clearer for the runners in advance of approach, given the marshal didn’t direct anyone and I know a few people went wrong. For those doing more than 5k it wasn’t very clear which direction to run if you weren’t finishing, so maybe next time there could be better signage. Medals were fab and I liked the nice buff touch too. Upon crossing the finish line I was hoping for a finish line photo but upon approach the marshal walk in front of me to hand another runner their medal which was disappointing. Maybe next time the marshal can be aware of the photographers presence. Upon crossing the line after 13 miles in the heat it was nice to catch my breath but I felt it a little overwhelming when the medal was thrust in front of me - usually at sn event your congratulated and the medal is placed over your head for you.

Great experience, would have been good to know the route in advance t though as for a first 10k race it was challenging with the slopes. Overall brilliant though and would do it again!
