Starting outside Thetford the long route will head south taking on some quiet roads and tracks through the forests of Suffolk. Joining the ancient Icknield Way trail you will be guided through some amazing scenery to the finish. This route will include sandy trails which can add some interesting challenges to the ride.
The medium route is perfect for newer cyclists to have a go. The Medium route will follow an undulating route with a few tough climbs. After 68k there will be a quick 7k back to the race village, if you fancy continuing you will be welcome to.

There will be plenty of free parking for entrants on-site.
Event day logistics
08:00 - 10:00 Long and Medium routes start window
The exact start times and start locations will be available closer to the date of the event.
You will be informed of your start time by the organiser closer to the event date.
All feed stations will be stacked with water, cake, fruit, sports nutrition bars, and nut butter.
At the finish, there will be a race village where you can grab some food, a pint, or a coffee.
What happens if i have a mechanical problem with my bike on the Suffolk Gravel X?
There will be mechanics at all feed stops to help you and ride captains along the route to offer support, make sure to bring a basic repair kit for small incidences.
How do I find out my start time for the Suffolk Gravel X?
Riders will start in groups of 6 at a time. You will be emailed after you have booked to choose your start time between 8:00am and 10am. If you are riding with a friend you can choose to start with them.
What is the best bike for the Suffolk Gravel X?
This route is ideal for gravel bikes with lots of smooth gravel and quiet backroads. Road bikes are not suitable, mountain bikes will be alright on the gravel sections but much slower on the tarmac.
