Route information
This 3-day active adventure will allow you to explore the best of the Scottish Highlands. Summit Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the British Isles and explore the still waters of Loch Ness via canoe. Stay in charming pub accommodation, with plenty of time to bond with your fellow travellers.
This adventure also allows you to give back to nature. Support the efforts of the National Trust by making a team effort to pick up rubbish on Ben Nevis and the beaches of Loch Ness.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
You will be collected from Inverness Airport at 19:30 and shuttled to the Loch Ness Inn, Drumnadrochit. Once you've arrived there will be a quick briefing on the weekend ahead.
Day 2:
Summit Ben Nevis via Coire Leis - below the north face of the Ben - giving you a view that is unseen from the tourist route. Ascend to the summit via a cairn that will give walkers a real sense of the scale of Ben Nevis. Expect to hike around 12km to reach the summit of 1,345m (4,143ft).
Day 3:
Starting at the striking Fort Augustus at the southern end of the Loch, paddle in a two person canoe north along the Loch's eastern shoreline to Dores. Short breaks will be built into the journey, with an aim for a longer break at Foyers or Inverfarigaig for lunch. Transfers will take people from Dores to Inverness Airport in the evening.
This is an adventure for those who are comfortable with a challenge and elements on the unknown. You should be fit enough to be able to spend 8 hours on your feet over 2-3 days.
