Poor emails before the race, crap brief that no-one could hear, no marshals to direct you out of the swim before the 700m wetsuit run, lack of marshals on the bike route, no marshals in transition, no nutrition offered on the run other than water or high5 gels (as if everyone hadn't been on gels all day) no food or drink at the end and nobody handing medals to competitors as they cross the line and congratulating them. Oh, and one marshal walking in the middle of all the swimmers on the way to the start blowing big vape clouds!

Great ride , roads were quite , lovely scenery and marshals in place at main junctions

Brilliant event but the run is hard. Great swim location and scenic bike. Rocky, repetitive laps and hilly. Despite it being hard I have signed up again for next year for exactly the reasons above. And recommended to a friend as it is so easy to get to from Bristol. 

The communication on what to expect was not great and given quite late. Also the running part would have been nicer if more interesting. Apart from that it was great.

The swim was amazing and the bike course was decent. The run was 5 out and backs with a nasty hill, so felt pretty brutal. 

Really well run event with swim, bike and run courses all excellent. Nice T shirt too !

The run could have been better organised, lots of people unaware which direction to run in and Stewards seemed unaware of the course route. Overall stewards could have been more enthusiastic. Feed stations on bike and run real bad!

Fantastic swim & bike course. Run a little rough due to gravel. Fantastic organisation for a small & affordable event. Highly recommended. 

For my first ever race I think this was perfect, not too busy not too serious everyone was really chatty. I was super nervous before the swim but got talking to so many people who made me feel so much better. Had a great race and really enjoyed every second of it……. Thanks to all that organized and supported 

Small well run event, very friendly people and beautiful countryside. 

Bit of confusion about swim course at the start, but that was resolved.Lots of stewards around the bike course, so issues there.However, the run course was around 1.5mile short! ..which was disappointing.Also, lots of encouragement around the run which was nice, but for those of us finishing later, nobody was really at the finish to announce you completing it  which was a bit of a shame

Yes I really enjoyed my first triathlon. The organisation, direction signage and marshalls were brilliant. 

Swim was amazing, Cromhall was a good venue. Cycle course on nice quiet roads with a few hills thrown in to test you. Run course was hard, quite hilly and large portions of it quite hilly, thankfully there was a well placed aid station on the run! 

Great day, albeit a bit hilly for my liking! Only downside was confusing info sent out before event ie clockwise swim, no anticlockwise, bike route changed ( understand due to road works so no ones fault, just a little unsettling fir a first timer) . but overall great day , v friendly people .

Was amazing great experience on this event. Definitely come back next year

"Simply the Best"!Really fantastic atmosphere and great sympathy/understanding by the organisers, who were flexible in the extreme which allowed me to finish..... and finish LAST, but actually made it feel like I'd won!Thanks a million 

The lake is superb for water temp & visibility. The running in the quarry was tricky, very hilly & rocky so I was worried about turning an ankle. The bike was tougher than I expected. It's a shame about the traffic lights as it's always hard to get going again once stopped. There seemed to be a bit of a shortage of marshals out on the bike route. I pressed the wrong button and can't correct it - I would recommend it!

Maybe a keep left when running to avoid bumping into people. Really great event though 

The volunteers were excellent all day: happy and encouraging.The course was good, the rolling hills of the bike were good challenges and there were some nice long sections of flat(ish) road where you could get into a rhythm. The run course was tough, with some short punchy climbs and one long drag.Would recommend and will probably do it again!

A raw no thrills event but cheap so don't expect ironman atmosphere. Swim was nice, road route was scenic but run was 5 out and backs.

Swim and cycle course were excellent. Run was tough and a bit repetitive. Cracking little event and I like that trimax don't take themselves too seriously - really inclusive. Best moment, the dip in the quarry after the finish - priceless!

Great first event. Not too intimidating friendly staff and easy to follow set up

Run route was not very clearly marked, also marshals were a bit understaffed. Very easy to go the wrong way and spoil your race
