Over the years the SWRC May flyer has increased in popularity and we get consistent positive feedback on its friendly nature and efficient organisation. The availability of free homemade refreshments is also very popular. There is a choice of two routes, both fully road marked. The Flyer 90km route meanders around the North Downs while the 153km Flyer Challenge crosses the North Downs on the way to Amberley in Sussex before returning along a different set of mainly country lanes.
Both rides are reasonably challenging and while some will enjoy the climbs like Coombe Bottom (tackled by a different route on the outward and return legs) more than others, everyone should enjoy the quiet country lanes of Surrey and Sussex.

SWRC May Flyer Cyclosportive routes
The routes will be marked by signs which have black arrows on a yellow background attached to telegraph poles, road signs etc. There will be additional warning signs at key points of the course. Club members will be acting as marshals at the course divide in Hydestile and at important road junctions. The role of the marshals is to give direction and to warn of potential hazards. They are not there to say whether or not it is safe to proceed. That is a decision which riders need to take for themselves.
There will be fully stocked feedstations at Lodsworth (long route only) and Ellens Green (long and short routes. a selection of homemade sandwiches and cakes along with tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided at the finish.
