Route information
Experience the bracing waters of Llyn Mywngil, a 220-acre glacial ribbon lake at the bottom of Cadair Iris in Snowdonia National Park. Famous for its beautifully clear, mirrored waters, this is a spectacular setting for this 1-mile sprint swim course in late October. Swimmers will meet at the Tyn Y Cornel Hotel on the banks of the lake, with its incredible views of the landscape.
Swimmers can expect water temperatures to be between an invigorating 9 and 11 degrees Celsius.

Tal Y Llyn lies just off the A487 between Dolgellau and Corris. It's a 50-minute drive from Aberystwyth and a 1hr 30-minute drive from Wrexham.
Parking
Participants are advised to park at the Pen Y Bont Hotel, which is a short walk from the race start. All-day parking costs £5 and overnight parking costs £10.
If you have booked into the Tyn Y Cornel Hotel for a meal or accommodation, you can use the parking there at no extra cost.
By Public Transport
The nearest station is Machynlleth, which has regular services from Aberystwyth and Pwllheli.
From the station, it's either a 20-minute drive to the Tyn Y Cornel Hotel or you can catch the T2 bus towards Bangor, alight at Minfford Hotel and then catch the number 30 bus towards Tywyn, which stops directly at Tyn Y Cornel.

Kit
Skins swimmers (swimmers without wetsuits) must wear tow floats.
As the water temperature will be low, it is recommended that you wear a wetsuit if you are new to cold water swimming.
