Named after Bert Tarpley, one of the earliest Pacer members and former club President, this event is very much part of the local race calendar. The course passes through beautiful countryside and is run along gently undulating country lanes.

This event is run over two distances, 10 miles and 20 miles, and the latter fits perfectly into the training calendar for a spring Marathon. Each junction is marshaled and the course is well signed. Please note the roads are lightly used but are not traffic-free so keep left at all times.

Finally, there will be a cut-off time of four hours from the start of the 20m race. This means there will be no marshals or support vehicles from 2.30pm.

First time doing the 10 mile after previously doing the 20. Excellent organisation as usual. Friendly & efficient officials & marshalls. Good race HQ. Fantastic cakes afterwards for charity. Excellent event. Would definitely recommend it.

Good parking facilities and close to race head quarters! There was enough toilets for all runners and the school building was open which meant you could stay inside from the cold before the start of the race. The course was brilliant. Slightly undulating; downhills allowed recovery and hills werent leg zapping enough to allow pace to drop. Brilliant, enthusiastic marshals all the way round the course. Awesome finish and free finish photo! Really good quality tshirt too. Great race 10/10. Definitely recommend it to anyone who fancies a challenge and especially those looking for a race before a spring marathon

Great race, beautiful scenery - nicely undulating course but pretty fast.

This is a great event, superbly organised, marshalled. The 10 mile course is undulating, through great scenery. Everyone is friendly and the supply to tea and cakes seems endless. Not only a good workout but a very enjoyable day.

Really enjoyed despite the cold temperatures. Only disappointment was that t shirt was short sleeved when Id had it on good authority from previous years that although no medal, you do get a good long sleeved shirt! Love the colours of it though.

No - the information given out before hand was comprehensive.Kit so depends on the weather so not something you can advise on, I would think.Maps of course clear - personally I don't know the area, but I had a rough idea of the course which was good.

Be of no doubt, this is a fabulous race in preparation for a spring marathon. The course rolls nicely and its open to the elements so when the wind blows, it really does come at you.Going in a figure of 8 on the 20 miler, the course goes through pretty Suffolk countryside and delightful villages.Make sure you have your breakfast before this race because you keep climbing throughout with a pleasing finish which is downhill.
