Route information
Distance: 12k Elevation: 471 metres / 1545 feet Terrain: Trails Route Type: Loop
The 12k race will take you out along the upper coastline towards Weymouth before turning off and heading down to the coastal pathway. This course will take you back via Durdle Door to the finish.
Distance: 23.5k / 14.5 miles (Half Marathon) Elevation: 631 metres / 2070 feet Terrain: Trails Route Type: Loop
The Half Marathon will head further towards Weymouth than the 12k. You will run onwards to Osmington Mills before you rejoin the lower coastal path. As you pick up the lower coastal path take in the stunning views of the coastline as you run to the finish.
Distance: 45.5k / 28.3 miles (Marathon) Elevation: 1864 metres / 6115 feet Terrain: Trails Route Type: Loop
The Marathon will guarantee to push your legs harder than the Half Marathon and 12k. Ascending a total of 1864 metres. You will follow the beginning of the Half Marathon before heading past Lulworth Cove and on to St Alban's Head and Poole, before returning to Lulworth.
Distance: 53.74k / 33.4 miles (Ultra) Elevation: 2140 metres / 7021 feet Terrain: Trails Route Type: Loop
The Ultra will follow the same route as the Marathon, however, it will turn off the coastal path a bit later. Make sure as you race the Ultra to really embrace all the picturesque scenery the course has to offer. You will then turn off the coastal path and head back to the finish line in Lulworth. This is long-distance with a sizeable amount of elevation so make sure to make use of all of the aid stations along the course.

Parking will be open from 06:00 which will cost £5 which must be paid in cash on arrival. The start location is at Daggers Gate Car Park, the Durdle Door oVerflow Car Park.

Age Requirements
Age requirements are as follows for the following distances:
  • Ultra: Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to participate
  • Marathon: Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to participate
  • Half Marathon: Entrants must be 15 years of age or older to participate
  • 12k: Entrants must be 15 years of age or older to participate

You must collect your race pack on the day of the event from registration at the allotted registration time for the event you have booked.

The start line is at the Dagger's Gate Car Park near Durdle Door Holiday Park, it will cost you £5 to park for the day.

Can I run with my dog at the Lulworth Cove Trail Running Challenge?
Yes, you are welcome to run with your dog but only in the Half Marathon and 12k race. Dogs are not allowed to run the Marathon or Ultra.
