About
Come and join us for 1 or 2 days of fun in the forest! The 401 Festival of Running is coming to the beautiful setting of Sherwood Pines just outside Nottingham for the first time ever. During The 401 Challenge, the support from the local running community in and around the Nottingham area was outstanding, hence why we picked this location to launch one of our festivals. For this event, we have partnered with the lovely ladies at Notts Womens Runners. With adult races including 5km, 10km, Half Marathon and our famous Festival Challenge (26.2 miles across the weekend!), plus 4 children’s races there is so much to choose from for the entire family to enjoy.Enjoy good quality food and drink along with a FREE evening film in our events village just as the sun sets over the forest, this year it's ‘The Goonies’, a true classic! Enjoy bespoke quality made bling (totally worth it!), along with the chance to buy a piece of our event merchandise all with a #bemoreeco twist. Our events are designed to cater for everyone, no matter if you are a beginner or someone that likes to go flat out. Our events are made even more special because of our incredible volunteers who really add to the supportive and friendly atmosphere of the event across the weekend. Whether you are first or last over the finish line, you’ll be greeted by a smile and maybe even a hug. We want you to go away from this event with your confidence boosted and feeling great about yourself, because after all, that’s what running is all about. We can’t wait to see you in July, it’s going to be epic!

Kit List
HEADPHONES-
Normal headphones are allowed in our Nottingham races however all we would ask is that you stay aware of other individuals that are around you as we wouldn't want any accidents happening. Bone conduction earphones are a safer option but we know they aren't for everyone.
GUIDE RUNNERS-
We welcome all abilities when it comes to our races. With blind runners specifically, we offer a free place to any guide runner required. Please contact us via email at support@the401challenge.co.uk ahead of booking, we can provide a FREE code and your guide runner will get a medal and race pack as well.
WHEELCHAIRS-
Our courses are suitable for wheelchair users, however, please contact us via email at support@the401challenge.co.uk ahead of booking your ticket, as this may change once our courses have been officially measured and any alterations are implemented. In some cases, assistance may be required.
BIKES-
We regret to inform you that bikes are unable to accompany you during your race, this is for the safety of other runners.
BAG DROP-
The bag drop is located next to the Information Tent in the Events Village. You will be given the opportunity to place your bag in the Bag Drop Area however The 401 Challenge Ltd cannot take any responsibility for loss or damage to any items you leave in your bag, you leave them at your own risk. That said our Volunteer Events Team will ensure they are kept as safe and secure as possible. You are able to access your bag at any time during race days.
Please ensure plenty of time to drop off your bag as races will not be delayed and any bags left unattended will be removed and potentially destroyed due to security concerns.
