If you have someone meeting you at the checkpoints. Let them worry about the details of the run, ie charging your watch/phone filling your water up, while you just worry about eating.

Of course appropriate footwear is vital. Check expected conditions. Likely to be muddy in winter.

I felt the info provided in advance of the race and the availability via social media groups was excellent. In addition, replies to messages were incredibly prompt. I never got a chance to recce the course due to logistics but would highly recommend. I only managed to checkpoint 2 this year but from what I saw would definitely recommend poles - I didnt use any but would in future.

Failed, due to mud.

I ran unsupported and neglected to sort my feet out when had the chance due to not wanting to loose my position. Big mistake as caused me to get sorted at St Ives and me slowing down in pain. Apart from that, be prepared for the roller coaster ride of terain and instant change in weather. Fantastic event which I said never again! 24hrs later yer lets go again!

Be prepared for Cornish coastline in winter conditions. Expect mud, rocky scrambles, amazing scenery and fantastic support from MudCrew on one of the UKs toughest and most rewarding races.
