A challenging, undulating course with some energy sapping mud! Good parking/ toilet facilities, could have done with a goody bag or cake at the end.

Great event, definitely challenging but the fresh air and beautiful scenery makes it worth the effort. A tea/coffee tent at the finish would have been lovely as we didn't want to walk to the main cafe restaurant all tired, cold and muddy.

No changing facilities. Lock the toilets at end of run so had to change underwear/ muddy clothes in car park !
Helpers were lovely , must have got really cold standing out there all that time.
Lovely huge medal 😀 nice shirt too . Very muddy but can’t do much about that !

A fantastic event and a really good challenge. Half marathon course was set out really well, very wet and muddy in place that would not have looked out of place in a swamp, however this made it a very tough but rewarding challenge. Not a PB course but one that is just as rewarding as a PB. Well organised and friendly and helpful volunteers, overall a great day. Can not wait for next years event. 👍👍

My first organised half marathon and was smiling all the way round, it'll be a tough one to beat. Gorgeous location, glorious mud

A great course around the woods without massive ascent and descent. Generally good trails with occasional serious mud. More surprising was a Forestry England version of cobbles which was less predictable and needed care, and seemed to appear at random over short stretches. Nice downhills towards the end of each lap. The final 200 metres was interesting, as if the grass had been ploughed up specially for the race, but a fitting end to a good test. Well organised and encouraging marshals, and no rain on the day. I look forward to attempting this again.

Very well organised event. Great atmosphere and stunning scenery. Challenging course with varied trails for all abilities. This was a great, fun event for my first half marathon so a good introduction for new runners but has plenty challenging terrain for the more experienced runner.

Stunning location, challenging course more undulating and more muddy than expected but that just added to the experience. Well organised and encouraging volunteers, and thank you to the lady who opened up the toilet block to lessen the long toilet queues at the start. Would definitely recommend and run this again.

The course conditions were a joke. The race is advertised as being mainly on hard surface forest trails. The start and end was half a mile through a waterlogged muddy field and there were several steep hills in thick mud - impossible to run. No one could hear the PA at the start and the baggage area was a small groundsheet surrounded by mud. The drink stations were all plastic cups - not exactly eco friendly in a forest setting and the drink stations (no bins) were bizarre - first one after a mile?! Never again.

So good to get that finisher's medal for my final race of the year. It was a fantastically run event and lovely route.
