The best organised and well attended 10k I've ever done. I've never seen so many marshals cheering everyone along. I can't think how you could improve this event. This event was on our club's Grand Prix (Todmorden Harriers), I hope it's on there again soon. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommended!

Fantastic event , which is friendly & well organised. Even taking into consideration the climb for the first two miles , this event is always at the top of my must run lists .... thanks to all the organisers & Marshalls on the day .... everybody needs to attempt the Buncer
A great course that begins on a 400m track then a challenging incline then some undulating moments with stunning views.Then the course goes back to Witton country park to finish on the 400m track. Super atmosphere and marshalling, not only are the marshalls friendly but they cheer everyone on.An all together brilliant run... thank you Blackburn road runners.
Winter Warmer 10k is well worth the pain of Buncer Lane! Fantastic venue, organisation, marshalls, goody bag, refreshments, everyone so friendly. A definite challenging race, just do it!!!
The road race starts on a track with a number of pacers set up before the start line. After one loop of the track you're leaving for the windy road on a long but not too steep climb for 150 meters in 3 km. Then you hit a glorious 3km straight down hill section with stunning views of the outlying country side. That the cherry on this event cake for me. The course then makes it way back to the stadium with another lap of the track for a fast finish.The roads are not closed off but there were plenty of marshals and emergency service vehicles organised around the entire course.This event has been organised by Blackburn Road Runners now for 22 years. All that practice has shown with an all-round wonderful race day experience from every single volunteer, marshal and runner I came across. The goody bag and medal was already amazing before some considerate members added a selection of vegan treats specially for my club members.Thank you BRR. You're a credit to Blackburn.
The Road Runners Winter Warmer 10K was brilliantly organised from start to finish... from collecting my race number & chip, to picking up my super-ace goody bag. It was a frosty run but health & safety were superbly maintained throughout, with gritted pathways and help nearby if needed. Whilst it was rather hilly... who in sport doesnt like a challenge, eh? :-) Breathtaking scenery, too.The marshalls were friendly & encouraging, and this helped make it such a fantastic experience.Thank you to all involved, including photographers, and the lovely general public who cheered us on. Id definitely enter this race again!!
Overall I had an excellent day on a challenging course, all the marshals were great and offered lots of encouragement!
The course was challenging for the first couple of miles as it was all uphill! Once at the top though the views were fab and the downhill was we'll worth while the effort of the up! It was a good course. The event was really well organised, one of the best organised events that I have entered and there were loads of marshals who were all absolutely great and really encouraging. My daughter ran the kids race too and she had a great time. I would definitely run this race again.
1st time I've raced this event and really enjoyed it (apart from buncer lane) black burn road runners certainly know how to put an event on no faults at all see you next year
Have run the WW several times now and it is deservedly getting more and more popular. Tough route but rewarding and well-organised throughout. Used to bring big group of kids down for the Junior race when there was less than 100 running it until it got so popular I was frightened of losing the kids!

This was my 2nd ever 10k. I absolutely loved this! The route was tough and hilly, but the organisation was outstanding, the atmosphere was awesome! The goidybag was great with my mug being in pride of place. I felt very unfit and unsure i should really be taking part when i arrived, but i was made to feel warm & welcome quickly. I loved it, will book again for next year!!

Best 10k I have ever attended. Buncer hill was really tuff. But after that it was fantastic.the feeling of running around the track at the end will live with me for the rest of my life. And I got my pb..I will be back next year with out doubt.. loved it xxx
Challenging course, fab marshals, awesome medal... this race should be on everyone's bucket list.
Great event did it a few years ago but last two I had to miss with injuries, good field and support on route + well organised , everything made easy on the day collecting numbers , presentation , bag drop etc.. thanks to all involved see you next time
This 10k was very well organised from the collection of your chip to crossing the finish line! The course was a really nice course, tough at time with great support from start to finish not only from the organisers but also from the locals. Would definitely recommend giving it a go and hopefully see you all again next year.

I have always enjoyed the Winter warmer. It is superbly organised with plenty of Marshalls who are very supportive. It is a challenging course with beautiful scenery. The goodie bag at the end puts the rest to shame! Fantastic finishing the run on a running track too! Fantastic effort by the organisers. Well done and I'll see you next year.

Great race Blackburn Road Runners organise a fab run. Superb atmosphere made up of great volunteers. One of my favourites.
What a great race. I havent done this since 2003. Great atmosphere. 2 miles up but there is 2 miles down as well. Well marshalled xx
Great road race. Mixture of roads - main, country, to tracks - and gradients - sneaky climb after the long descent! Really well organised. All signage clear from car parking to registration to getting to the start line. Helpful, knowledgeable marshalls everywhere. Great facilities with the track - atmosphere with finishing area coming back into the park! Lovely goodie bag and fruit/water at the finish. Only improvement would be to be able to access more information prior to the race on the club's website. Will definitely look out for a summer race - especially if the cake stall is on again. Oh, yeah, knocked 3 seconds of my PB!
I really enjoilyed the race, the stewards were full of life supporting you if you needed some encouragement. I will definitely be doing the race again next year
My first winter warmer and absolutely loved it! I was dreading Buncer Lane but once at the top, a fantastic run. Organisation and support from the marshalls was amazing! Even bagged a pb!
Great race, challenging course and good benchmark for my marathon training
Arrived at Witton Park & registered with ease. The 10k was one loop. Set off behind the pacers, this was good as I was with the 1.10 pacer, so the fast ones weren't pushing past & I didn't feel like I was in anyone's way. It was 1 lap of the track then onwards & upwards to Buncer Hill. Buncer Hill - well, I had to walk it, as I haven't been running since Nov17, except for a couple of 2mile runs last week. However, once at the top of Buncer, lovely views & downhill from then on, with only one more smaller hill to climb. Finished with another lap of the track.I thoroughly enjoyed it, fantastic marshals, well signposted & Brilliant support from Blackburn Road Runners. I will be returning next year, hoping by then to run up Buncer Hill, well some of it!
The support all the way round the course was fantastic from residents, neighbours, marshals and the general public
One of the hardest runs so far but one of the most rewarding after I done it pb in 5k and pb in the 10k so happy days
Really enjoyed the whole event, first time ive run on a track in many many years , the lastime being at school on a grass track back in the 70's,so enjoyed tbe new experience Buncer Hill strangely enjoyed the climb and well worth the reward of a good long downhill, the marshalling was superb and there was plenty of support all the way round the lovely route,Coming back into the Arena and yrack was superb and a fantastic atmosphere to getvyoubround over the finish line.What a great goody bag and medal absolutely love the 'I conquered Buncer'for me far better than a t shirt.So to sum up 5 star event Thankyou 1 and all involved
This is one of the best organised races around. Fantastic Marshalls. Great atmosphere fantastic scenery...of only you could iron out that bloody hill! Second year doing this race and will defiantly be back. Nice to have the band playing along, very much appreciated the tunes.

Brilliant run to be a part of, hats off to those involved with organising it and Marshall. Fantastic involvement with all staying on until the last runner was home (around 93mins).Good course, some solid hills to be wary of if its your first stab at a timed 10km (tiny tiny improvement could be if some of the country roads were shut, although unsure on logistics of this).Phenomenal goody bag too, love the I conquered buncer mug!!
I only started running in October 2017 so this was my first 10k race, I can honestly say I wasnt disappointed, I highly recommend this race to anyone whos reading this... That hill is hard work... but worth it..
This was my 3rd time running the Winter Warmer and I was fortunate enough to win a charity auction to gain entry. The organisers support two fantastic charities, for Alzheimers and the East Lance Hospice. The race did not disappoint. It was organised extremely well with a party atmosphere and a band playing throughout. The kids race went off before the main event and there was a great turnout. The 10k itself was fantastic. The organisers did well to grit areas which were still a little slippy in the morning and made the course safe. After a notorious hill, Buncer Lane, the course takes you through some lovely countryside overlooking Blackburn. Pacers were provided for those that needed them and the marshals and support around the course were fantastic. Really vocal and supportive. I would recommend this race to anyone, both beginners and elites and anyone in between. I first ran as a novice in 2010 and the race just keeps getting better. Youd struggle to find a better 10k in the North West.
The route was tough for me I did struggle with the hills but I got round in a good time ! The marshalls were excellent!!! Probably the best Marshaled event I have run ! Atmosphere was amazing and was an good turn out
The course was great. A bit congested going up Buncer Lane, some runners were running in the road, not very safe.I liked the course and it was well marshalled.
A challenging start but the downhills made it worth it. Course well marshalled.
Well ran event even the sub conditions didnt stop play Constant support by Marshalls all round the course Fab goodie bag and prompt getting results on line . I am not a runner but do this event every year .
Great Run. Great (horrible) hill!!!!! Recommend it to other runners though. Great atmosphere. Great medal.

First time I've done the race and I loved it. Very tough first couple of miles, but was greeted with a great 2 mile downhill stretch to open up the legs. After the 4 mile mark it kicked up again but then the last 2 miles levelled out for a fast finish. Loved the race with mixed terrain.
