Route information

The Buccaneer is based at the famous Bucklers Hard Maritime village in the New Forest. It boasts stunning routes where you will encounter wild animals roaming free along the beautiful roads of the New Forest and the run takes you through the beautiful historic village.

By Public Transport

The closes train stations to the event site are Brokenhurst and Lymington. These are both approximately 15 minutes by car from the event site.

Start Format

Entrants will be set off in a time trial format, with entrants being set off individually in 15 second intervals. You will be allocated a start time after registering.

Race Packs

Entrants can collect their race pack the day before the races between 3pm and 5pm, or at their allocated start time. You must know your race number and ensure you either have a BTF day licence (paid when entering) or an in date BTF licence. If it is out of date you will need to pay £6.

When will the race briefing take place for The Buccaneer Duathlon?

The race briefing will take place on the friday before the event via webinar. The briefing will be recorded for those who cannot attend the live viewing, but all entrants must watch it before attending.

Do I need to be a BTF member to enter The Buccaneer Duathlon?

All entrants must either be a BTF member or have a BTF day licence. If either of these are out of date entrants must be £6.

What will transitions look like at The Buccaneer Duathlon?

Big and spacious! Usually bikes are racked 4 each side to a rack but now it will be two bikes each side. Make sure you have your bike stickers on, wristband on and helmet on a done up before entering transition. The marshal will check from a distance. This will speed up the queue.

Did the race in 2022

Great location, not as busy as some duathlon's which I liked, parking was good and near the event and a cafe nearby was good. I didn't like the mandatory stop on the busy road on the route which lost me a couple of minutes waiting for the traffic to clear which enabled other competitors to catch me up !!

My first event for a very long time so I was nervous. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the course was stunning. I really enjoyed it.

This was my first multisport event and i couldnt have asked for a better opener. The event was really well run with great communication throughout, the set up on the day was really good, transition especially being a really well guarded area which made me feel very safe putting my bike there etc. Good course too!
