Route information
Total height gain: 1100m.
This will be a challenging route starting and finishing at the Tyn-Y-Cornel Hotel. The route follows a steady path along the mountain then enters the Cadair Idris National Nature Reserve.
There first 6k will see the most serious incline, with the 4k - 6k section with the steepest ascent. The ascent continues towards Mynydd Moel before traversing west and ascending to the summit of Cadair Idris, 893m.
The most technical section of descent is just after the summit of Cadair Idris.

By Car
The race HQ at the Ty'n y Cornel Hotel is located on the North side of Lake Tal y Llyn off the B4405, just off the A487 near Minffordd. The A487 runs North-South between Dolgellau and Machynlleth. You can reach the hotel via the A470 Cardiff to Llandudno, the A487 from South West Wales, the A494 to Chester and Merseyside and the A458 to Shrewsbury, connecting to the M54 and M6.
By Public Transport
The closest rail station 6 miles away in Machynlleth. This station has direct trains from London and the West Midlands.

Cut-off Points
All runners will need to reach the first checkpoint in under 90 minutes from the race start or they will be asked to turn around and return to the event start.
The cut-off is in place for participant and marshal safety.
