Route information
A 40 mile, point-to-point course, primarily on the trails of the stunning Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. This course is mostly undulating, with a sizeable ascent between 3 and 12km. There is a total ascent of 1644 feet and decent of 1473 feet.

There is an optional coach transfer from Brecon (the finish line) to Fourteen Locks (the start line) on the morning of the event. You can leave your car in Brecon, in the secure parking close to the finish line. Please select coach transfer during signup if required.

Time Limits and Checkpoints
There are no time limits or cut off times, the event staff will support you to the finish line however long it takes you - just don't pitch up a tent ;-).
There are 4 checkpoints along the route. Perfect to stock up on fuel mid-race with snacks, drinks, power banks, encouragement and music. Let the event staff know your dietary requirements during signup.

FAQs
Is there an age limit for The CANUM?
Yes, participants are required to be at least 18 years old on race day. However, individuals 16 or older can participate as long as they have a parent or guardian run/walk with them for the duration of the event.
Is there a time limit for The CANUM?
There is no time limit. The event staff will do everything they can to support participants to the finish line.
Where can I find the results after The CANUM?

What communications can I expect after signing up to The CANUM?
Firstly a ‘welcome to the party’ email. Then emails 6, 4 and 2 weeks before the event date. Finally a phone call from the Race Director a couple of days before the event as a ‘peace of mind call’ to answer any questions and ensure you are ready for the big day.
Do you allowed participants to run with dogs?
All of our events are dog-friendly except for the EDDUM, due to restrictions connected with the land that the route passes through.
Is the route marked up or is it self navigation?
All of our events have a mixture of permanent waymarkers, Pegasus signage and well trodden footpaths. Plus each participant is required to carry a digital copy of the route - just in case.
