A nice sea-side half ... and every kind of weather to boot! The organisers very kindly allowed me to have a new number when I couldn't find mine. If it hadn't been chucking it down at the end we would have stayed longer afterwards.

A really nice run. Easy access, great parking, well organised and great running by the sea. Start needs to be more structured as too many slower runners up front caused congestion. Couldn't hear the starting briefing. Sand on the course could have been cleared. Great medal. Had lots of fun and achieved my best 10K time so far as the course is mostly flat with only a couple of short inclines.

Whilst it’s a good race to do it should be made clear that there’s is sand on the course. I don’t expect it to not be windy but it is. If you can handle 7 miles of a headwind along the beach then you’ll be alright.

I entered the event very last minute so collected my number on the day. The number collection was well organised. More signage to the nearby toilets would have been helpful. Starting both the 10k and 1/2 marathon is a mistake in my opinion. Although it is a nice idea to start both at the same time the shear number of people at the start made it very overcrowded on the pavement at a few points after I started running I then came to a complete standstill. Also it means that you cannot order yourself according to your finish time at the start of the race. Even starting one race 15 minutes before the other would have helped with the congestion. As the course was advertised as fast and flat, I was not expecting there to be deep sandy patches along the promenade. The headwind on the day was also not very easy to run in although to be expected at a coastal race. The marshals were nice and water stations well stocked with sweets also. The medal was also very nice. Overall was quite well organised, I mostly enjoyed the race in hindsight but I definitely wouldn’t do the half marathon there again.

    The Good.
The staff were friendly and gave clear instructions. Parking was a breeze. The track marshals were both good to the runners and good at keeping the public out of the way.

    The Bad.
The start was crowded by an ice cream truck making it hard to get in position. We couldn't hear the start signal, nor any of the commentary and warnings before the race. With the 10km and Half Marathon starting at the same time there were many slower runners up the front and due to the path was being narrow for the crowd, the first 2 km was a constant battle to get past teams running 3 abreast and having a chat (I love the social teams, but they shouldn't be up front). There was deep sand on the track for intervals, which can't be helped, but it made between the first turn around and the life guard house like a beach run, and that sand in my shoes wasn't pleasant.

Well organised event with a great medal. Perhaps could start a bit earlier to avoid some of the other prom. \ forrpath users.

It's was a good run. Needs to be better for you to put your bag's as it was just on the floor. But the longer it goes on the better it will get.
