Wow, what a challenging course with loads of hills. Wouldn’t recommend this as a beginner’s HM. Great organisation and location that had me running round a part of Kent I not visited before. Massive thank you to the marshals for looking after us in very windy conditions.I really enjoyed the course and the challenges it presented. Will be back to see if so can better my time.

I enjoyed the half marathon but it is challenging with the amount of hills and yesterday was windy. I would do it again

Very well organised and friendly event from top to bottom. Sign up process was easy and received excellent communications via email, text and in the Lets Do This app in the week or so leading up to the race. Lots of parking available and the Race HQ was a good size with plenty of room for attendees to collect their race packs without it feeling too crowded. Start line was a 5 minute walk from HQ, but well signposted and marshalled.Race is a challenging, undulating run along country lanes. Some of the inclines are particularly persistent so I wouldn't recommend this for a first half marathon. I would, however, recommed it overall as the views are well worth the climbs.Friendly marshalls were readily available along the course and there was never a danger of taking a wrong turn. There were also a few water stations that were well stocked and was easy enough to grab, go, and dispose of the cups. The finish line had a nice, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of room to stop and stretch afterwards, collect a medal and grab an energy bar or trailmix (vegan options were appreciated! These are so often unavailable at such events).Overall I will definitely be adding the Deal Half Marathon to my race calendar.

This is a challenging route and not one for the faint-hearted, but it is set on lovely quiet roads with great support from the friendly marshals. The start time was quite late and it’s a shame there wasn’t a small trophy or keepsake for podium places though. But overall a good event!

I really want to praise the organisers and the marshals who ensured a great event. The course was challenging with the hills, and especially so given the windy conditions.

Great challenging course only made more challenging by the strong winds we experienced. Volunteer Marshall’s are fantastic and really supportive around the course (The unofficial bag drop was really useful on such a cold day).

Challenging course, but well organised with a good number of marshalls along the route. Definitely coming back to this one
