Route information
What course? There is no single, plotted route for participants to make their way home. Thats the beauty of this event. Participants are blind-folded and dropped off at 2-minute intervals through the countryside.
There are 3 race distances (10M, 15M and 30M) but be warned these are measured "as the crow flies", in other words 15 miles in a straight line back to HQ could end up being 20 miles if you get lost.
There aren't many rules, but they are important:
1. No phones
2. No maps
3. No money
4. No GPS or navigation assistance
Participants will be given a sealed emergency bag to use in case they are genuinely in trouble. This will contain a phone, money and GPS. However, if the seal is broken when you return back to HQ you will be disqualified.

Parking: The Race HQ will be in the town centre so there will be parking available but you should give yourself some extra time to allow for this. Please also note as with any town, there are parking restrictions and regulations to abide by.
Public Transport: York Rail Station is 1 minute walk from HQ, and the York Central Bus station is a 2 minute walk.

10:00 - 10M & 15M Start
Please make sure to arrive with plenty of time to get parked, registered and warmed up before you don your blindfold and take on this awesome challenge.
Spectator Info
Spectators are welcome to join at the end of the event, but the point of this race is to get participants outside of their comfort zone and out of reach. There are no phones allowed so it will be difficult (impossible) to coordinate with racers.

Will there be any support on The Drop, York?
No, thats the point. There is no support after you have been dropped at the starting location.
Will there be race results of The Drop, York, and how do I find them?
Yes, if you finish the race then your results will be published online within 2 hours of the race ending.
Will I be dropped off with anyone else at The Drop, York?
Only your teammates if you have signed up to be in a team. Otherwise participants are dropped at 2 minute intervals to each other and must find their way back by themselves.
What are the rules of The Drop, York?
No phones, no money and no assistance. You are given emergency items in a sealed bag in case you really need them, but you will be disqualified if the seal is broken.
