The Dukes Weekender ventures into the mountains and forests of the beautiful and iconic Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, with some extra twists and turns up the Closed Road Hillclimb Prologue of the iconic Dukes Pass. Included during the weekend there will be a shorter Dukes Kids Mini Enduro for families and children on the Saturday morning.
The Dukes Weekender entry is for the Hill Climb (which is the Prologue/Stage 1) on Saturday and Sunday's Gravel Enduro. These events will be combined to honour the overall winners. Part 1 of the Dukes Weekender is the Dukes Hill Climb taking place on Saturday afternoon. It is a closed road Hillclimb race up the iconic Dukes Pass, using 1.9km of the Pass with a total climb of 142m. This will also be available as a stand alone event as well as counting towards the main event. Every rider will stand a chance to be crowned Duke or Duchess of the Hill. This rare chance to race on a closed road is a fantastic experience for riders and spectators alike, with a festival atmosphere up the hill. Come and have a go, you'll love it! Part 2 of the Dukes Weekender is the Dukes Gravel Enduro taking place on Sunday from 9am. It is a socially orientated event that explores an almost entirely off-road route on a variety of trails in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. For competitive riders, the event is based on an "Enduro" format with a variety of electronically timed stages. It is suitable for Mountain Bikes, Cyclo-Cross Bikes as well as specialist Gravel Bikes. In previous years we have offered Gravel Enduro as a seperate event. Due to demand we are giving priority to Dukes Weekender entries first. Entries for the Gravel Enduro as a stand alone event will open 5th Jan 2020 PLEASE NOTE COMPETITORS ARE REQUIRED TO USE THE SAME BIKE FOR BOTH HILL CLIMB AND GRAVEL ENDURO. WE ALLOW A WHEEL AND TYRE SWAP. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENTER THE HILL CLIMB TWICE FOR A SECOND GO ON A SPECIFIC BIKE PLEASE CONTACT THE ORGANISERS FOR A SPECIAL DISCOUNT AT INFO@DUKESWEEKENDER.COM The Dukes Kids "Mini Enduro" gives children the chance to compete in an Enduro, in the same style as the adults, on flowing riverside trails and forest singletrack. They will use the same timing equipment to add to the experience. Despite the competitive stages, the emphasis of this event will be completion. All children will receive a goodie bag and other attractions are available over the weekend.
On Saturday evening we host 'The Dukes Gathering' features film screenings and inspirational talks from some cycling royalty. A limited number of tickets will be available for this charity night and details will be announced closer to the event. Previous speakers have included Graeme O'Bree, John & Katie Archibald and Kerry Macphee, this event sells out quickly so keep an eye on our social media to find out when you can get tickets.
