The Festival of Endurance at Hever Castle routes

The historic grounds and former home to Anne Boleyn are home to an incredible celebration of athleticism. The Festival of Endurance truly has something for everyone whether they are a purist looking to perfect a long distance swim or would rather mix it up with an interdisciplinary triathlon.

A couple of highlights of this event include swimming in the Hever Castle Moat, and the stunning gardens of both Hever Castle and nearby Chiddingstone Castle. This race has been dubbed the friendliest triathlon on the racing calendar, and each year it continues to grow in popularity.

The previous years start timings for the various Sprint events took place between 07:30 and 14:30. The Starter Tri, Children and Swim only events started between 15:00 and 17:00.

If Covid restrictions dictate, they shall follow a similar format at this Venue. If social distancing is not required, all adults events will take place in the morning and Children and Mixed Team Relay events after 14:00.

Entrants will be notified of their start time via email 2 weeks prior to the event. It is advised that entrants arrive at least 1 – 1.5 hours before their given wave time. Relays go off in the final wave of their distance.

Spectators

Spectators are encouraged to come out to this spectacle of an event. The grounds of the castle are filled with food vendors and other entertainment so bring the whole family down and take in everything this awesome event has to offer.

I have a British Triathlon license, do I have to pay full price for the Hever Castle Festival of Endurance?
You will need to bring your BTF License with you on race-day to avoid paying an additional £6.
Is the water quality at the Hever Festival of Endurance good?
Water quality reports are conducted by EU Water Bathing Directive and can be found on their website.
How cold will the water at Hever Festival of Endurance be?
Usually the water temperature fluctuates between 15 - 18 degrees, but it can change based on the current weather conditions.
I see there are many more races than I can purchase tickets for, why is this?

    A very well organised event, lovely course consisting of two laps. A mostly trail run with a bit of road, very small stretches of the run where it’s too narrow to pass other runners, it wasn’t a problem though.
