About this event

Hailed as the friendliest race on the triathlon calendar, and set in the historic grounds of Hever Castle, this event celebrates the athletic achievements of all racers. Come for the finisher's medal and the incredible atmosphere.

Formed in 2009, the Castle Triathlon Series has swiftly established itself as the UK’s largest triathlon series.

From Lough Cutra to Chantilly and Castles Howard, Cholmondeley and Hever, we’re immensely proud of the iconic backdrops to each Castle Triathlon Series race and the friendly festival atmosphere produced at every event.

Route description

The historic grounds and former home to Anne Boleyn are home to an incredible celebration of athleticism. The Festival of Endurance truly has something for everyone whether they are a purist looking to perfect a long distance swim or would rather mix it up with an interdisciplinary triathlon.

A couple of highlights of this event include swimming in the Hever Castle Moat, and the stunning gardens of both Hever Castle and nearby Chiddingstone Castle. This race has been dubbed the friendliest triathlon on the racing calendar, and each year it continues to grow in popularity.

The Bastion: 3.8K Swim, 180K Bike, 42.2K Run

The Gauntlet: 1.9K Swim, 90K Bike, 21K Run

Middle Distance Aquabike: 1.9K Swim, 60K Bike

Long Distance Aquabike: 3.8K Swim, 120K Bike

Middle Distance Aquabike: 1.9K Swim, 10.5K Bike

Long Distance Aquathlon: 3.8K Swim, 21K Run

Half Marathon: 21.1K Run

Full Marathon: 42.2K Run

Middle Distance Duathlon: 10.5K Run, 45K Bike, 4K Run

Logistics and schedule

The previous years start timings for the various Sprint events took place between 07:30 and 14:30. The Starter Tri, Children and Swim only events started between 15:00 and 17:00.

If Covid restrictions dictate, they shall follow a similar format at this Venue. If social distancing is not required, all adults events will take place in the morning and Children and Mixed Team Relay events after 14:00.

Entrants will be notified of their start time via email 2 weeks prior to the event. It is advised that entrants arrive at least 1 – 1.5 hours before their given wave time. Relays go off in the final wave of their distance.

Spectators

Spectators are encouraged to come out to this spectacle of an event. The grounds of the castle are filled with food vendors and other entertainment so bring the whole family down and take in everything this awesome event has to offer.

Volunteers

Volunteers are a focal point of all Castle Triathlon Series events. As such, they are always on the look-out for more helping hands.
