Enjoy the thrill of riding a sportive without all the hills getting in the way. Great for riders of all abilities, the course is pan flat and takes participants along some stunningly beautiful roads. Come to try for a PB or to enjoy riding in the summer sun.

Your organiser

Sportive HQ was formed by Matthew Porter in 2014, after having approximately 10 years experience in the organisation of various types of cycling events. It was very much the feeling that sportives were becoming more expensive over the last few years and that need not be the case, value for money can be put alongside quality events. Sportive HQ works alongside local clubs to produce events that riders will want to do every year. We listen to what riders want from an event and endeavour to meet those requests. At Sportive HQ we like to keep things simple, ample free parking, showers, changing rooms, a timed event with well spaced, well stocked feed stations and routes to challenge everyone of all abilities. Sportive HQ helps in the production of many local charity events and have helped raise, alongside local clubs, in excess of £50,000 for local charities over the last few years.

An absolute superb flat event that i was more than skeptical about in relation to the claim of such a flat course. To be fair, only 72 meters over 62 miles is somewhat of an achievement to keep so low.The roads selected were so quiet and flat with while not amazing views, it certainly was picturesque all the way round the course and one i certainly plan on putting in the diary again next year.Well done to all the Sportive HQ team, a really well run and carefully chosen roads event that more people need to give a go at.Well done… read more

Route description

The Long Route starts in Peterborough and then heads north east through Thorney and onto Holbeach St Johns where there is a tea and biscuit stop. Riders will then head towards the Wash National Nature Reserve before looping back through Holbeach St Marks and into Holbeach. The route then winds through Weston and Pode Hole and then arrives in Weston Hills for a feed stop. Riders will then complete the home stretch back to Peterborough.

The Medium Route follows the Long Route up to the tea and biscuit stop. Instead of heading out to the Nature Reserve, the route cuts North through Gedney and then loops round to the feed stop at Weston Hills where it meets up with the Long Route once again. Riders will then ride triumphant southwards into Peterborough.

The Short Route heads through Thorney and the onto to just south of Crowland. From hear riders will loop round and head south towards Peterborough, passing to the east of Parnwell.

Very well organised event, great atmosphere, food and drink stops were brilliant (especially the vegetable tikka wraps), everyone was very friendly and this was my first century ride (no hills) brilliant route and would do it again, even though there are no hills it is constant pedalling as there is no freewheeling. Lovely medal at the end (only had to pay a couple of quid extra for this) absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.

Great detailed information prior to event. On the day Matt, the team and volunteers were smiley, helpful, chilled and generally brilliant. Signage was excellent, food was real and delicious - loads of options available in wraps including the best vegetarian tikka, fresh fruit, cake, crisps and nuts etc. Great route. Love that Sportive HQ are really supportive and inclusive of all no matter what type of bike you are riding and especially those new to cycling and/or sportives. Bonus that you can choose to pay for extras like medal, buff jerseys etc rather than paying high price and getting something you don't want. Although i didn't need them, having mechanics and paramedics on the course was quietly reassuring. Thanks for a great day out.

This was the first time we have done a Sportive with Sportive HQ. We both had a great day, it was well organised, the route was well signed, the rest stops were well stocked with a good variety of food, start/finish line atmosphere was good and the staff involved in the event were friendly! We will be definaty doing another event in the future.

This sportive was very well organised, the course was marked out perfectly, and .gpx and .tcx files available. The feed stops were the best ones I’ve experienced in a sportive, including multiple options of wraps, cakes, biscuits, cold and hot drinks, energy drink too. Regularly saw medical motorbikes riding up and down the route too, so was confident support was there if needed. The staff were all very friendly and were happy to chat with the riders at the end. Hope to see more rides put on by SportiveHQ

Another excellent Sportive HQ event as I've come to ecpect. Matt does a great job at putting on an enjoyable bike ride at a fair price. Great organisation, good parking, friendly atmosphere, absolutely superb signage, good support, reasonably priced merchandise, decent food and a brilliant twisting route around a relatively unappreciated little corner of England I absolutely loved it! 250 feet of ascent in 104 miles is worthy of the label Flat!

The best signposted course I’ve done this year! A completely flat course that you can do at whatever speed you want. If you're training for an Ironman or a 100 mile TT it’s ideal. The food at the stops is spot on, fresh and tasty with plenty of water or sports drink along with tea and coffee if you want it.

I would like to say a special thank you to the 2 mechanics who kindly swapped and fitted my split tyre at no charge. If this event can be organised so well at a fantastic price why can’t other companies do the same? Well done Sportive HQ. Credit to you and all your team.
