This approximately 8k route will take you on two laps along the challenging Gunpowder Fields. Starting and finishing at Battle Abbey, enjoy the fantastic scenery this part of East Sussex has to offer.

How to get there

Get full directionsThe Race Headquarters will be located on the Abbey Green. The start is located 100m from the race HQ in the high street with the finish located under the shadow of Battle Abbey.
Parking
There is pay and display car parks located throughout Battle. Parking is not permitted on the High Street as this forms part of the route. Parking is available on a first come first served basis so we recommend car sharing and arriving in plenty of time.
By Train
The closest railway station is Battle which is roughly a mile from the race HQ.
Event day logistics

Race Packs
Entrants who have entered in good time will have their race packs sent in the post 10 days before event day. Those who have entered in the 10 days before race day will collect their race pack at registration on the day of the event. If your race pack hasn’t arrived, head to the registration desk at race HQ and you can be issued with a new one.
A full set of race instructions will be sent via email before the event.
Age Requirements
All runners must be aged 15 and over on the day of the event in order to take part.
Bag Drop
Runners may leave their personal belongings with the race organisers while they run.
First Aid
First Aid providers will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.

When should I arrive at the Gunpowder Run?
You should aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the run to allow time to park, find race HQ and get warmed up.
How old must I be to take part in the Gunpowder Run?
All runners must be aged 15 or older in order to take part.
Will there be prizes at the Gunpowder Run?
There will be prizes/trophies for the 1st male and female.
Will there be tickets on the day of the Gunpowder Run?
You will be able to buy tickets on the day of the event for £20. These will be subject to availability so book now to avoid disappointment!
