Whether you choose to run in the half marathon or the 10k event, this race, planned and organised by our Club Captain Mike ‘the Beastmaster’ Tizard, will test your mental and physical resolve as you pit yourself against some of the toughest terrain Portland has to offer….. springy grass, rocky footpaths, pebble beach, hard core paths and steep hills (there are some lovely sea views though!)

Route information
The route takes you from the top of the island to the bottom and back up again. Along the way you will pass the prison, Historic High Angle Batteries, the Verne, Portland Marina, run along Chesil Beach before climbing Lankridge, a challenging climb of over 350ft. A quick breather at the top as you appreciate the view and continue along Westcliff to Portland Bill and back up the East side of the Island where you will tackle the infamous Goat path! Whether an experienced runner or a first timer this is a great challenge and you will be rightly proud of your achievement as you cross the line.
What's included
The race start and finish is at the Blues Club Grove Road, Portland. This is the home ground of Portland United Football Club and parking, as well as toilet and changing facilities, are available.

To get there by road head for Weymouth then follow the signs for Portland on the A354. Follow the main road to the top of Portland to the Heights Hotel roundabout. Go straight across the roundabout to Easton. After approximately 300 yards you will pass the Chesil Beach Motors Garage and the Recycling Centre on your left, the next turning on the left is Grove Road. The PUFC ground is approximately 300 yards on your left. If using a Satnav enter the postcode DT5 1DP.

Registration is open from 08:30 and will close promptly at 09:45am. Please don't be late. All numbers are to be collected on the day.
