Day 1
Oban to Barra
8 miles

After a group meeting providing everyone a chance to meet each other, riders can enjoy a relaxed exploratory loop of Oban. At 13:30 the group will board the ferry to the Outer Hebrides. The 5 hour crossing will bring the group into Castlebay.

Day 2
Barra Loop
27 miles

The lap of Barra takes riders on single track roads past beautiful white beaches and wonderful coves. Traigh Mhor beach forms one of Britain’s most interesting airports as the sandy shore becomes a runway for the island. A notable stop on the loop is the southern tip of Vatersay, the most southern point of the journey and the official start of the Hebridean Way.

Day 3
Barra to North Uist
69 miles

The first big day of cycling takes in 6 islands: Barra, Eriksay, South Uist, Benbecula, Grimsay, and North Uist. A ferry will take the group from Barra to Eriksay in the morning, whilst all the other islands are linked by causeways and navigable by bike. The islands will be predominantly flat, with beautiful lochs and lochans.

Day 4
North Uist to Tarbert
53 miles

The day will begin in North Uist on the quiet single track roads. Riders will briefly land on Berneray Island before catching a ferry accross to the island of Harris. The west coast of Harris boasts some of the most spectacular beaches in Britain. The day will be full of wonderful and stunning scenery.

Day 5
Exploring Harris Beaches and Tarbert
50 miles

The group will remain on Harris for this day with a wonderful day of exploration. The team will show you the hidden gems of the island, including some remarkably beautiful beaches. The support team cook an incredible lunch on the Indian Kadai before returning to the accommodation in the evening.

Day 6
Tarbert to the Butt of Lewis
77 miles

The northern section of Harris Island is less green and more rugged, with mountains replacing machairs. Waves will crash against the ancient exposed rock, and upon reaching the Butt of Lewis, the group will have reached the end of the Hebridean Way. You will transfer to Stornoway for the celebratory final meal.

Day 7
Stornaway to Ullapool, Oban and home
0 miles

The tour finishes with the final ferry to Stornaway. At this point you can join the return travel home or continue your journey.
