The HOWUM is a must for any intrepid explorer wanting to tackle some challenging, yet rewarding climbs. Starting at Doi Llys Farm Caravan site, over the 30 mile course you will tackle a total elevation of 4448 feet, this Ultra is not for the faint-hearted. As your pulse rises, make sure to conserve you energy as you traverse the mixed terrain course. You will be able to take in the gorgeous sights of the Clywedog reservoir near Llanidoes which feeds the River Severn. This loop will take you through the meandering pathways that joins up 4 epic trails, the Sarn, Glyndwr's Way, Severn Way, and Wye Walk.

If travelling from London via train, you can take the Avanti West Coast service to Birmingham New Street Station. Once there change to the Aberystwyth service, getting off at Caersws. From there it is a 15 minute bus drive to the Red Lion Hotel which is only a 1 mile walk to the start line.
If travelling from London by car, you can follow the A4 towards the M4. Then take the M40, M6 and M54 to A5 in Shropshire. Finally continue on the A5 to you final destination in Powys.
