5km, 10.5km or 21km trail running through the forests of Hurt in the Surrey Hills.The Route Director was born in the Forests of the Hurtwood and has been running through them ever since he could stand. He knows them thar hills and he knows which will hurt and which will not. In 2018 the routes will be tweaked and some of those hills will be added. As all the distances will be extended, for some it will be a case of ‘we meet again’. For others it will be ‘glad to meet you. I’ve heard so much about you.When you enter, assume distances are approximate. ie approximately 5k, approximately 10k and approximately 21k. They will be a couple of kms more than stated. Fear not, this will continue to be trail running at its best!

Route information

For 2018, there will be tweaks made to the course. Keep checking back here for more details. You will also be told when the route has been confirmed.

Those doing the 21k will do the chosen route 10.5k twice.

As these are such tough courses we request that anyone under 16 years of age runs with a parent or guardian.

Please look out for black arrows on a luminous yellow background. If you don’t see an arrow after 150 – 200m from the last, you have gone wrong. Don’t continue on hoping you will see an arrow. Please turn around and retrace your steps.

A choice of trail runs all of which climb through the enchanted pine forests of the Greensand Ridge in The Surrey Hills. These off-road runs will offer magnificent views and superb scenery as you race through the alpine -esq forests of “Little Switzerland”.

Travel

Nearest train station is Gomshall. Trains to Gomshall are few and far between!

Nearest mainline stations are either Guildford or Dorking then taxi to Peaslake.

If you come by taxi, get out on Lawbrook Lane, before you get to the event field. There is only one way in and out. The taxi will be stranded inside until all traffic inbound traffic has ceased.

If you come by bike there’s plenty of fencing around the start/finish venue meadow to chain your bike to.

Parking is off Lawbrook Lane, Peaslake, Surrey GU5 9QW. Please follow the The Hurt signs and arrows.

Registration, bag storage, port a loos and the race start will all be at this location.

This year the start line line is in the car park.

Please don’t go to Walking Bottom Car Park. No one will be there!
