FAQs
Do I need to pay for the registration separately to the donation for the July Freedom Run?
No, there are no payments other than the donation made when registering. We aim to raise as much as possible for the provided causes and are not splitting the costs between registration fee and donation. All of the registration-related donations are transferred directly to the accounts of respective charities.

Although I was there on holiday and from far away (Germany) I got to know many other runners who I didn't know before. I talked with Ukrainian people about my job in Germany: teaching young Ukrainians German.

This run was the worst experience as the race organiser (Fix Events) failed to even get the basics right and I had to leave the event without running and ending feeling this was all a waste of time. My experience was the following:I arrived around 8am at Hyde Park to collect my number (#177 in the registration list for 10K) for a 9am start time. At the registration desk, I was told that my bib number and baggage label had been given erroneously to another participant and told to wait as an announcement would be made for the person that had that number to come forward and collect their correct number. That announcement was never made. The registration queue took around another 45 minutes to clear and by then there were around 50+ people waiting on the side of the registration desk which were late entries and had not been allocated a number. At that point and seeing that there was a risk that I would not get a number I approached the registration desk again and ask them to either make the announcement they promised to make or at least give me a new number so I could run.A lady from the registration desk spoke to the person who was making the announcements explaining the situation. For reasons that were never explained to me this person was not eager to make this announcement. The lady apologised to me and explained that unfortunately a number (and baggage label) could not be given to me. I did not see the point of arguing because already the 3 ladies at the registration desk had started arguing with the person who was supposed to make the announcement as they did not have enough numbers remaining to give to the people who had registered late.At that point it was already 9.15am and I decided to leave as it was clear to me that it would not be possible to run and had no baggage label to leave my backpack while running.

I booked this race to do as part of a longer run for marathon training. I arrived early to collect my race number and timed my 4 mile warm up perfectly to coincide with what should have been the start of the race but the start was delayed by 40 minutes! Far too long, it also messed up my plans for the rest of the morning/return train journey. It was a charity race so I didn’t want to complain or make a fuss but the delayed start messed up my intended running plan.
