All routes will take runners through the beautiful grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle, home to ancient trees as old as 1086. The terrain will be wide, hard-packed trails, making this course perfect for trail running newbies, children and those wanting to run with four-legged friends. There will also be two aid stations to keep you fuelled for the run.
The Long 21k route will head out from the grounds to also take in the quaint villages in the idyllic Lincolnshire countryside.
Routes will be clearly marked throughout, with Maverick volunteers on hand should you have any problems.

There is plenty of free parking available at the event venue.
By Car
Grimsthorpe Castle is easily accessible by car. From the A1, take the exit at Colsterwoth to the A151 which leads directly to the castle.

The purpose
This event is completely free for all. Maverick want all to be able to experience running at its finest, so no matter your experience you are welcome to come along and race.
There will be an optional donation to the Running Charity if you would like to give those underprivileged a chance to get running and enjoy the trails.
Water & Nutrition stations
There will be approximately three hydration and nutrition outposts on these routes, provided by Precision Hydration.
Plastic-Free Event
Maverick Race is making every effort to make this season 100% plastic-free. For this reason, there will be no plastic cups at this event, so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle with them to refill at the stations located on route.
Canicross Entry
This is a dog-friendly event, and users can purchase a spot for their furry fiend for £3 extra.
Spectator Info
This is a fantastic event for spectators who are strongly encouraged to come along and create an amazing race day atmosphere at the venue.
Supporters will have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area for themselves and take in the breath-taking landscape.

No, nothing will be posted to you prior to the event. Your race number will be waiting for you to collect from the Registration area on the morning of the event.
I can no longer make the event, can I transfer my place to another event?
If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event Maverick Race are happy to do this, but once only. However, they cannot action any transfers for an event that has sold out. The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email Maverick on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. Maverick are not able to move you out of an event if you contact them after this day. You may transfer to any event listed on the Maverick website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference.
I’m aged 15 or below, can I run on my own at The Maverick Adidas Terrex Original Lincolnshire?
Unfortunately there are not separate races for younger runners, all ages and genders run together. All runners under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. An adult must sign up to the event and then they can add a ‘Junior entry’ for free.
