Join Maverick in the stunning Mendip Hills for this trail running event you won't want to miss. There'll be plenty of steady and steep climbs to keep your blood pumping through the courses, but it will all be worth it for those views across Somerset. Choose from one of three epic routes.

Route information
All 3 of these routes will involve some serious climbs and descents, with some chunky elevation! The routes will follow the West Mendip Way, through the forests of Rowebarrow Warren but the star of this route is the climb up the highest hill in the Mendips, to Black Down heathland.
There'll be plenty of views of the Somerset landscape throughout these rotes, including some celebrated wildlife such as the herds of feral goats, Soay sheep and Peregrine falcons.
Those taking on the Long Route will be treated to truly awesome views from the top of Cheddar Gorge where you might even be able to spot the Seven Bridge and Glastonbury.

There will be free parking available on site. Please do try to car share where possible.
By Train
The closest train station is Worle in Weston-super-Mare which is a 25 minute drive from the venue. Southern Railway run regular trains from London Paddington to Worle.

*Please arrive with plenty of time to park, register, attach your race number and warm up.
Age Requirements
Participants must be aged 13 and over for the Middle and Long distance. Participants of all ages can enter the Short race, with under 12's going free. Please note that all under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Water & Nutrition stations
There will be approximately three hydration and nutrition outposts on these routes, provided by Precision Hydration.
Plastic-Free Event
Maverick Race is making every effort to make this season 100% plastic-free. For this reason, there will be no plastic cups at this event, so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle with them to refill at the stations located on route.

Transfers
If you want to transfer out of an event, this is ok, but only once. You can only transfer to an event if it has not sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email Maverick on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. the organiser are not able to move you out of an event if you contact them after this day.
Canicross Entry
This is a dog-friendly event so bring along your canine friends for a small fee.
Spectator Info
It is strongly encouraged to invite friends and family along to spectate the race, as supporters are integral creating an amazing race-day atmosphere.
Supporters will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and take in the breath-taking landscape for themselves.

All runners under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult throughout the event.
Is my race number for the Maverick Adidas Terrex Original Mendips event posted to me?
No, nothing will be posted to you prior to the event. Your race number will be waiting for you to collect from the Registration area on the morning of the event.
