Bats tend to roost in the broadleaved trees and thick young conifers provide shelter for deer, so keep your eyes peeled.

Maverick Race is undoubtedly one of the best trail running organisers in the UK. The company was started down on the Jurassic Coast back in 2013 by Ben and Justin. Since then they’ve delivered events which are guaranteed to take you to some of the most scenic locations in the UK. However, what really separates Maverick is their strive for inclusivity in the outdoors. From 6km entry level runs to 50km ultra marathons, there really is something for everyone. Afterwards you’ll find everyone hanging around, enjoying some fresh pizza, and speaking to like minded people with a shared passion for trail running.
It is strongly encouraged to invite friends and family along to spectate the race, as supporters are integral in creating an amazing race-day atmosphere.
Supporters will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and take in the breath-taking landscape for themselves.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the event. Chose the longer course (only ever run short one before) as more people to run with. Nice flattish trail run. So nice for a Veteran like me to be with so many enthusiastic young people. Very well organised. Great choice of refreshments. Well signed. Thank you to all involved.

A well organised event. Good vibes and an all-round great event. I'll be signing up for some more of your races in the future.
4.3Did the Middle in 2022
First off at £37.50 for a brand sponsored event I had high expectations, as I know these events take a lot to stage it didn't put me off. First off was well attended and a decent little Basecamp, so all good there, looks a solid organiser. This was a replacement for cancellation of a more local run so maybe there were early discounts etc this was my first Mavericks, and after a couple of years I now have some favourite organisers.Considering a major show brand were sponsoring I wrongly expected quite a technical trail and maxed the footwear to match (think Salomon tractor tyres) I could of done in an older pair of road shoes and less layers as was clean when I got to the car. Was a fairly bland hard trail for the medium but maybe the long trail went off-road more I can only comment what I did and didn't compare to other trail runs gutbuster, new forest, SouthDowns etc, which also were a substantially lower cost, no road closures etc of an expensive road run. Although I must say I've not seen so many Marshall's at a trail event.I've a full calendar for 2022 so will look out again next year for other location and maybe give another go elsewhere.

Sleek and simple event. The event had a supportive and encouraging vibe with the right amount of competitiveness thrown in!

This was my first race in 10 years and I loved it!! It was very well organised, I registered quickly, the brief was quick and to the point. I would def recommend and would run again today!! 😁
4.3Did the Short in 2022
Really pretty location and the course was well signed. There were lots of dogs, who were all gorgeous and well-behaved, but we did spend the first couple of km dodging them, as they went off like rockets. The distance was misleading as on the Let's Do This website it said 10km, but on the course site it said 12km. When I asked a marshall which it was they said they didn't know! Would have been helpful to know for pacing. Reasonable number of portaloos but the ones I visited didn't have loo roll or hand san. The only water station on the 12km route was at 3km, so not well situated at all, and at the end we were offered beer rather than water, which was no use to me at all, dehydrated and about to drive. All in all a nice day out but probably wouldn't do it again.
3.3Did the Middle in 2022
This event was brilliant. The only issue I had was every single person starting together was awful. It would have been so much better if it was staggered like other events I have been to. Other then that it was great.
4.7Did the Short in 2022
Great race, my daughters first ever middle distance race. Free kids is a wonderful way to get them involved!
