Route information
This event was quickly nicknamed 'The Beast' and labelled the toughest event in the Maverick calendar because of the vertical ascent of over 2065m on the Ultra route.
The Exmoor National Park in the South-West of England is known for its moorland and dramatic coastline with all 4 routes have the very best the area has to offer.
While this event is not for the faint-hearted, trail runners of all abilities will be able to complete one of the distances on offer if they commit to the challenge.
The routes follow part of the South West Coast Path which is England's longest way-marked footpath and a National Trail. You'll enter the valley of rocks, a superb coastal path known for its herds of feral goats, and back inland towards some special forested sections.
The Ultra route is 57k with 2124m of elevation.
The Long route is 42km with 1458m of elevation.
The Middle route is 20k with 722m of elevation.
The Short route is 15k with 519m of elevation.
*There will be aid stations along each route.
