Each of the 4 routes on offer takes runners through ancient forests and rolling fields. The North Downs boasts a calm and tranquil atmosphere as you run along single-track trails.

The routes wind their way through Winterfold and Hurtwood Forest. Take a break to admire gorgeous views of the classic British countryside from Pitch Hill. For those who love a challenge, take on the longer routes that pass through Leith Hill and Ranmore Common, and join the famous North Downs Way.

By Car

There will be free parking available at the venue. It is recommended by the event organiser to car share where possible, to allow enough car park spaces for everyone.

By Train

Chilworth is the nearest station to the event site, just 18 minutes by car. Shalford Station is a 30-minute public bus ride from the venue. Both are accessible from London Waterloo and take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Age Requirements

Please note that all under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Cut-off times

There is an 8hr30-hour cut-off time for the Ultra and Long routes, with specific cut-off points detailed below:

OP1: Hurtwood Car Park 2, Walking Bottom (12k), 11:00
OP2: Base of Leith Hill (19k), 12:05
OP3: Ranmore Common East (32.5k), 14:20
OP4: Base of Leith Hill (43k), 16:05
Finish: Cranleigh Showground (52k), 17:30

Water & Nutrition stations

There will be approximately three hydration and nutrition outposts on these routes, provided by Precision Hydration.

Plastic-Free Event

Maverick Race is making every effort to make this season 100% plastic-free. For this reason, there will be no plastic cups at this event, so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle with them to refill at the stations located on the route.

Dog Entries

You are welcome to run with your dog at this event for a small fee of £3. We have very limited dog spaces which sell out quickly! If the option to add a dog does not show on the entry form this is because the event has sold out of dog spaces. For safety reasons, we only allow one dog per runner. Each dog receives a special dog medal.

FAQs

Is my race number posted to me?

No, nothing will be posted to you prior to the event. Your race number will be waiting for you to collect from the Registration area on the morning of the event.

I can no longer make the event, can I transfer my place to another event?

If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event Maverick Race are happy to do this, but once only. However, they cannot action any transfers for an event that has sold out. The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email Maverick on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. Maverick are not able to move you out of an event if you contact them after this day. You may transfer to any event listed on the Maverick website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference.

Does The Maverick Adidas Terrex X Series North Downs require mandatory kit?

Yes, these items are mandatory for the Ultra and Long routes. All runners must carry the below with them throughout the run: trail shoes, taped waterproof jacket, taped waterproof trousers or base layer for legs, mobile phone (in case of emergency), enough food and drink (at least 1 litre) to last you the race - there will be outpost on course to top up, foil blanket, first aid kit, head torch and spare batteries, additional long-sleeve base layer, hat/buff and gloves, a re-usable cup (we’d like to ensure our are races plastic free), GPX of route (use your free Ordnance Survey code).
