Elevation Rolling hills
All three routes weave through the rolling hills, tranquil valleys and bustling hamlets of the quintessentially English South Downs, as well as spending time on the iconic South Downs Way.
With the West Sussex Dark short route being Maverick's hilliest short distance nighttime trail running event (sitting at under 200m of ascent in just over 6km) and the middle and long routes being some of their toughest Dark routes, you can guarantee that signing up to run for West Sussex is sure to earn you some serious Kudos.

Age Requirements
Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the run.
Water & Nutrition stations
There will be 1 aid station on the course with hydration and nutrition provided by Precision Hydration. Please note; there are no aid stations on the short route.
This will be a plastic-free event, so please be sure to bring your own reusable bottle or cup
Plastic-Free Event
Maverick Race is making every effort to make this season 100% plastic-free. For this reason, there will be no plastic cups at this event, so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle with them to refill at the stations located on route.

Transfers
If you want to transfer out of an event, this is ok, but only once. You can only transfer to an event if it has not sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email Maverick on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. the organiser are not able to move you out of an event if you contact them after this day.
Dog Entry
You are welcome to run with your dog at this event for a small fee of £3. We have very limited dog spaces which sell out quickly! If the option to add a dog does not show on the entry form this is because the event has sold out of dog spaces. For safety reasons, we only allow one dog per runner. Each dog receives a special dog medal.

Runners of all ages can take part in any distance at our Dark Series events, but those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the run. Those under 13 can sign up for free.

Yes all finishers will receive a bespoke finisher's medal.
