The Maverick invo-8 Original Oxfordshire event holds a special place in all our hearts and is back for another year after becoming a treasured member of our event calendar back in 2017.

Our Original series season finale sets off three brand new trail running routes from the 850-years old Manor House of Stonor Park. The estate is home to one of the most ancient deer herds in Britain, so keep your eyes peeled for the graceful fallow deer that have grazed here since medieval times. Out on the trails if youre lucky you may also spot the rare red kite, which have successfully been saved from national extinction in the area.

All three routes weave through the estate and surrounding Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. However its not all a blissful fairy-tale or a chance to spot rare wildlife, there are some ferocious trails to negotiate, with climbs and descents reaching gradients of 22% in parts. Youll need your head firmly focused on the task ahead to get through some parts of this event.

With three new routes on offer, our Original Oxfordshire event ensures that trail runners of abilities will be challenged and we are sure that saying I do to this event is something you wont regret.

What a race! Every inch of the route was stunning and no company creates a better vibe at their village. I highly recommend this race and Maverick in general!

love this route in autumn cannot wait to return in 2020, with the new 3 routes to choose from, Stonor park is a sublime location
  • Did the Middle in 2017

I loved this race. The course was beautiful (helped by the amazing weather) and it was just the right distance for me. I didn't even notice the km's go by as I was just enjoying the landscape and negotiating the varying terrain. The organisers were brilliant, and the goodies at the end went down a storm, especially the beer.

Stunning race - got lost and went on the long rather than the middle but that just made it more enjoyable. Loved all the canicross runners and just such a great vibe to the day
  • Did the Long in 2017

Such a great course and so lovely to have two distances so everyone can have a bit of fun!
  • Did the Middle in 2017

Absolutely love Maverick Races and this one didn't disappoint. Easy (free) parking, quick registration and a beautiful location. The route was stunning and challenging but it was lovely to just amble along with my friend and her dog, having a natter and enjoying the scenery. Will definitely be doing again next year.
