Maverick Race are ranked #1 in the UK out of 508 organizers

We welcome you to a whole new series; the Maverick Inov-8 X Series events are designed to test your resolve and take you to the upper limits of your abilities. We venture to The Snowdonia National Park known as Eryri in Welsh, a name that can be translated as the place of the eagles.

The Maverick inov-8 Snowdonia X-series and Ultra event is quickly becoming a notorious event within the UKs Trail running calendar. To keep up with the reputation of our Snowdonia event being the toughest in the area weve added a brand new ultra-distance route that will see the most bold of trail runners cover over 60km of Snowdonias finest Trails and summit from both the Llanberis and Miners track.

In the destination venue of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, there is never any guarantee of the weather, but what is always promised is the most extraordinary trail running up and around the surrounding area of the formidable 1085m peak of Snowdon itself.

All four routes of or Snowdon X-series event start in the village of Llanberis and immediately take you up the well-known Llanberis Path towards the Summit. All routes are challenging and technical, but with grit and determination they are achievable and will leave you with the most fulfilling sense of accomplishment.

For many of our runners our Snowdon X-series event is quite literally the peak of their season. In past years as runners come back through the Village of Llanberis to cross the Maverick finish line we see tears of complete fatigue and overwhelming happiness due to these runners pushing themselves to their own personal limits to complete this extraordinary event.

This is the perfect event for those wanting to move from UK trail running into slightly tougher and even more incredible running views. With the different distance options you can run in this amazing place but at the right level for you, then go back the next year and go even further!
  • Did the Long in 2018

This is my favourite trail running event, without exception. Maverick have absolutely nailed the best route with exceptional marking and aid stations. I will keep coming back to this race every year and no one does it better than Maverick!

best route I have run ever, cannot wait to return in 2020, so well organised, not sure if any other event in the uk trail scene can match it.

I did the snowdon marathon This was my first maverick race and wasn’t disappointed the organisation was first rate, support at the aid stations was great I did the marathon route with my two dogs and they were also well looked after at the aid stations I can’t wait to do it again this year with my dogs.

    Did the Ultra in 2018

This was the best Trail Marathon I've ever run. The landscape and scenery speak for themsleves but the route was superb with some brutal climbs 'after' summiting Snowdon. The organisation was faultless and freindly and the course markings were the best I've seen for any race. A truly great event.

My first big trip into the high mountains running. Quite simply stunning. Cracking start straight to the top for a warm up, magic descents on gnarly trails back down to the lake and continuous beautiful scenery around the foot of the Mountain and just when you think that's it I have had it, another epic rise and miles of wonderful decent to the finish. Great atmosphere, superb feed stations - all you'll ever need to support you through the Mountains. Epic.

Great fun and really relaxed vibe. They were happy for me to change distance on the day without any hassle. Beer at the end and a fantastic cake and biscuit stall - what’s not to love!

I can't rate it highly enough. The course is stunning and although tough, it's achievable to all who dedicates some time to training. The official photos are amazing (capture you in some breathtaking backdrops) and are free to download. Never had such in-depth conversations with strangers whilst running, you can tell everyone is there for the same thing...the love of the outdoors!
