Course Details
The Bushy 10k course is a two lap route covering the paths and trails within the boundaries of Bushy Park. The course has been measured using GPS but, because of its multi-terrain nature, it cannot carry a certificate of course accuracy. The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. We would ask you to remember that we do not have exclusive use of the park and you should be aware that other park users will be on the course.

The route is mostly flat and covers a selection of hard track, tarmac, and a small section on grass. You will pass around various sections of the park alongside the Hampton Wick Royal Cricket Club and the Oval Plantation whilst taking in the mixture of scenic woods and lakes. You may even be lucky enough to spot one of the many roaming herds of Red or Fallow Deer that have been known to watch the start of the race on a few occasions!
Travel

Getting there on foot and by bicycle
The park is easily accessible by both foot and cycle. You can leave your bicycles with us at the race registration area whilst you run.

Getting there by car
For those who wish to drive to the event there is a car park close to the start and adjacent to the Diana Fountain. Remember that the car park is shared with other park users, so you're advised to arrive as early as you can. Signage will direct you from the Park's car park to the race registration/start area.

There are disabled parking spaces located closer to the start line and if you require the use of one of these parking spaces, please email us and we can send you the details. There is strictly no parking on any grassland or roads within the park. For those using a Sat Nav the postcode for the event is KT8 9BZ.

Getting there by bus

There are number of buses that travel to Bushy Park and it is then just a short walk from the gate to the event. The buses that travel to Bushy Park are:

  • 111 Kingston - Heathrow
  • 216 Kingston - Staines
  • 411 Kingston - West Molsey
  • 465 Sandy Lane - Fulwell
  • X26 Express service Heathrow - Croydon
  • R68 Hampton Court – Richmond

The buses either stop on Hampton Court Road, where Hampton Court Gate is the closest gate, or Sandy Lane, where Teddington Gate is closest. The closest gate to the event is Hampton Court Gate.

Getting there by train
There are three stations surrounding the park - Hampton Court, Hampton Wick and Teddington - and are all accessible by travelling from London Waterloo. The best station for the event is Hampton Court and it is then a 10 minute walk to the event via Hampton Court Gate.

A bit of a bumpy start but the rest of the course was amazing. This is basically 2x parkrun for anyone who wants to practice.

Thoroughly enjoyed the event. Will look to do again next year!

Thought the race was very well organised, the volunteers and stewards all cheered you along which was great and were all very helpful. The only feedback for next year would be the start. It was so narrow around the first bend to the main path that many people had to stop and walk. I appreciate that it's in a park and so the grass isn't going to be perfectly flat but the start was also by far the most uneven ground which meant overtaking equalled tripping over. I would just start it on the main path if possible as the rest of the course was great! Apart from that I had a lovely morning, would definately consider doing other ones throughout the year and the medals were amazing. (And the mince pies!)

Good atmosphere and people. Starting section was a little rocky with such a narrow throughfair and very uneven ground. Several people tripped including myself. Not a fan of lap based race courses but it was a great location to have a nice run. Excellent medal and great supporting staff. Many thanks.
