You can choose to run the downhill mile (53ft negative elevation), the uphill mile (50ft elevation gain) or both! Both are 1-mile officially measured routes (on tarmac) & are UKA-licensed events. The start of the uphill mile is handily 400m from the finish of the downhill mile and you run back towards Race HQ for goodies.
Full Series Ticket
The full series ticket entitles you to either all 12 or 6 Old Tram Mile races.
- Full Series Single Entry: This entitles you to 1 race per event. (6 races across 6 events).
- Full Series Doubler Entry: This entitles you to 2 races per event. (12 races across 6 events).

Please remember to head to Race HQ before (for bib collection) and after (for goody bags / presentations) your run - The Hunters Pub, Hennel Lane, Preston, PR5 5UL.
The course location is the Old Tram Road, Preston, PR1 9TY - start line of the downhill mile being a 0.5m walk from Race HQ.
Event day logistics
09:45 - 10:45 Bib number pick up (including on-the-day-entries) from Race HQ (Hunters Pub, PR5 5UL)
11:00 Downhill race start
11:30 Uphill race start
This is a six-part series between April and September on the first Saturday of each month with two mile-long races per event date.
If the entrant is under 16 years of age, parental or guardian permission is required. Please provide details of parent/guardian who has given permission (name & contact details). If under 9, child must be supervised on the course by the nominated parent/guardian at all times.
You may leave you bags at Race HQ, however they are left at your own risk. Valuables are best kept in your car, or with a friend/family member.
500ml bottle of spring water at the finish line. Goody bags (& prizes) to be collected and picked up from Race HQ after your run. NOTE: The Hunters pub (Race HQ) bar opens from midday (& not before) for drinks & food.
There will be toilets available at Race HQ.
On the day entries
For on the day entries, (cash and card payments are accepted). Please note, this is only possible between 9.45am - 10.45am. Costing £4 (affiliated runners) and £6 (non-affiliated runners) per race.
Results be posted on The Run Bible website and their social media accounts.
Bone conductor headphones are allowed. However, it it preferred by the organiser that you do not run with headphones, due to passing cyclists and marshal instructions.
Unfortunately, you cannot run with your dog unless it is a medical assistant dog. Please leave your furry friends at home.
Yes, you are permitted to run with a running buggy. However, we will be allowing running buggies at the entrants own risk. It would be appreciated if these entrants started towards the back (as the first third of the course can be quite narrow when considering other runners, pedestrians & cyclists).

By entering either series you'll save the price of one standard entry.
If any spectators wish to come along, please do so after the first third of the course where the path is much wider (after the cycle barrier).

Only if you selected it as part of your ‘optional extras’. Our events will always start as entry-only, with extra’s if you select them (rather than forcing people to take extras at more cost).
