This a chip-timed 5 mile (approx.) mixed terrain race set largely within the 220 acres of Porthkerry Country Park with stunning views of the Bristol Channel and Glamorgan Heritage Coast. This race has established itself as a popular fixture on the local running calendar and has hosted the prestigious Welsh Short Course Trail Championship.

The Porthkerry 5 MT race is run on a mixture of surfaces including open grassland, woodland paths, trails and tarmac paths in a roughly figure-of-eight course. It includes two challenging hill climbs, fast flat sections and downhills.
The course can be slippery underfoot so it’s recommended runners wear good road shoes or trail shoes (no spikes).
