Try something new this summer with the Rye Harbour Ekiden Relay, the only Ekiden relay event in Sussex. Based on a traditional Japanese concept, each team member runs a variety of distances to complete a half marathon in total, set in 6 stages. All levels of abilities are welcome to participate.

Ekiden Relay:
This epic and unique event is a fantastic opportunity to grab some friends and enter for an epic night of running and fun in the picturesque Rye Harbour Nature Reserve starting and finishing close to the entrance of the reserve.
In teams of 6, each runner will complete one of the 6 stages of 5k, 2.5k, 7.5k, 2.5k, 2.5k, 1k, in order, totalling the distance of a half marathon. Not just a test of speed, but also of tactics, as you determine who is best suited to complete each leg.
Kids Ekiden Relay:
Before the main event, there will be a Kids Ekiden relay. In teams of 5, each member will run 1km on an out and back course starting from the event village.
This event promises to be an epic evening of running, with great music, new friends, and a bar & bbq for runners and spectators.

Parking:
The Race Headquarters will be located on the green outside of the caravan park. There is on site parking for Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, which will be well signposted as you come into Rye Harbour Village. Please take note of any local parking charges that may be applicable.
Train:
The closest railway station is Rye (Sussex), but it is around 2.5 miles from there to the race HQ. You may wish to run, walk or cycle, but there are limited bus services available for the area.

18:30: Kids Relay Ends and Adult Relay Starts
21:30: Cutoff time for Adult Relay
Please arrive at least 45 minutes before race time to ensure plenty of time for registration
