FAQs

How do I attach my timing chip?

Your timing chip is incorporated into your race number and should not be removed. Please place the race number on the front of your vest/shirt and not on your leg or back.

How do I attach my race number?

Please attach your race number to the front of your running top or vest using safety pins or clips, securing it on all four corners. Please don’t attach your number to the back of your shirt as it is difficult for our timekeepers and marshals to identify you.

It was a beautiful setting for the run and all the staff and marshals were really helpful. The main thing that could have made it better is if there had been signs from the carpark as none of us knew how to get to registration and some people waited so long to pay for parking that they missed the start. Maybe there could be a system of paying for parking in advance? The other thing is that we brought a team of junior triathletes who won quite a few prizes but none of them could claim them because they were alcohol. So prizes suitable for all ages would be better.

Absolutely loved this 10k! It was a very cold morning but running around the beautiful lake was stunning. The course was flat and a really nice combination of gravel paths and in the woods. The course definitely has PB potential as it is flat and wide. It was a 5k course and so those doing the 10k went twice which really was an advantage seeing it all again. The race was well organised with water at the 5k point and a lovely medal at the end. Will definitely do this again!

Great course, great signage and friendly marshalling on the course. Agree with other reviewers that pre-race comms needed to include a clear course map with directions to the start from the car park (and to be prepared to allow time for a pay and display machines queue). A goodie bag to take away might have been nice...a cereal bar to eat after etc...always happy for that to be built into the event price personally. Would do again in 2020.

Very good event on the whole. It would be good if you could sell car park tickets with entries so we don't have to queue at the machines. It would also be good to separate the water station from the 5K finish. It was hard to get to the water for 5K finishers hanging around.

Enjoyable Course Well Signed, Wonderful Marshalls Only one minor gripe it would have been advisable to inform all participants that the car parking is pay and display and to allow plenty of time to park, pay & display as the start was delayed for this reason where runners didnt allow enough time

Lovely flat off road course around Black Park, well organised, lots of marshalls and route markers so didn't get lost. Lots of runners at various levels of fitness, I was one of the last to finish but was cheered on all the way and a very welcome cheer at the finish line. I will definitely do it again.

I enjoyed the race, but I felt the communication from the race organisers before the race was a little bit disappointing. I contacted them through their contact form to ask about a route description or route map, as well as on their Facebook page, but never received a response. There was also no route map available at registration (not visible anywhere anyway). It was well marked out, but I felt they could have at least replied to my messages. Also people as the back of the start line could not hear a single word of what was said at the race instructions, which led to confusion as the 10k runners where doing 2 laps of the 5k route and we didn't have a clue whether we were meant to cross the timing mats or not. This could have been made a bit clearer on the day, like a laminated instructions board + route map at registration for everyone to see, or a different sound system so all runners can hear what was being said at the start. But the route was wonderful, although the second lap the park was a LOT busier and I saw frequent runners being chased by dogs on the second lap in busier parts of the park. Little niggles to sort out, but would do it again.

Great course, really beautiful and some lovely people. Unfortunately there was very little signage from car park, most people went to meet where the park run and all other runs at Black Park leave from by go ape. This delayed a lot of people and the start. At the start the PA system was poor and the general crowd could not hear any announcement. But it was a good run, lots of fun and would do it again
