Join Pegasus Ultra Running for a majestic 40 mile ultra marathon along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, this beautiful and peaceful waterway follows the line of the lovely Usk Valley through the Brecon Beacons National Park. Starting at Fourteen Locks, the route follows the ‘Mon and Brec’ all the way to the Brecon Basin.
The Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal
The Mon & Brec for short, is a true hidden gem. A haven for wildlife and a favourite with nature-lovers, walkers and cyclists. This peaceful and almost entirely rural waterway is a must-see for adventure-lovers.
Point of Interest
The canal passes through a World Heritage Site, which contains industrial landmarks such as the Big Pit Mining Museum. The Cefn Flight of fourteen locks has also been recognised as being of international significance, and is on Cadw‘s list of Scheduled Ancient Monuments.

By Car
If following the sat nav please use the following address: Cwm Lane, Rogerstone, Newport, NP10 9GN, Wales.
If travelling from London you can take the M4 towards South Wales and Cardiff, turning off at junction 27 onto High Cross and B4591.
By Train
The closest major train station to the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre is Newport which is only a 2 mile walk or a 15 minute bus journey to the start line. If travelling from London to Newport you can take a train directly from Paddington station to Newport station.
