This race had a good community atmosphere. Bag drop was easy and well organised, as was the catering. The race was unfortunately delayed by an hour due to an RTA, but we were kept informed by the race directors - it was something that couldn't be helped. There were 4 water stations, but it would've been better to have another one between miles 6 and 10.5. Jelly babies were not available until mile 10.5, so if you are used to getting these along the way, be sure to bring some with you! There were people collecting empty cups after every drinks station, so litter was kept to a minimum. There is a long hill which lasts about 1.5miles. It is relatively steep. At the end of the race, you have to run around the athletics track 1.5 times which isn't too fun as you see the finish line, then pass it. This was not made clear and was only separated by some triangular traffic cones.A good quality medal was given as a memento.… read more

Route description

Running to the south-west of Dartmoor and taking in some spectacular scenery. The first half of the course is somewhat undulating but the last 5 miles are pretty flat and downhill. Coming back into the town through the beautiful Meadows Park, runners will find themselves finishing on the Tavistock Athletic Club running track.
