The Tissington Trail Half Marathon Weekend routes

THE COURSE

This is a rare opportunity to run a half marathon in Derbyshire without hills! The race is a point-to-point race from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne along the traffic-free Tissington Trail. Coach transport will take you from the Race HQ in Ashbourne to the Race Start in Parsley, you then run back along the trail to reach the finish! The route is slightly downhill virtually all the way, so it's a great course for runners of all abilities and a fantastic introduction to the half marathon distance for runners of all abilities.

Although the route is traffic-free, the trail will still be open to other trail users, including cyclists, walkers and horse-riders.

FIRST AID

Private medical services will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. Please note that due to the nature of the trail, it is not possible to provide contiuous supervision all along the course. Should you become unwell, you will be advised to alert a marshal, who will then arrange assistance for you. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.

Beautiful scenery, perfect off road running .
Take an old jumper with you that you don’t mind leaving, it was freezing this year and you are taken to the starting point via coach , with no means of having warm up clothes returning back to you, ( point to point half )

Really friendly race, well organised especially having to bus people to the start. All good. Enjoyed it despite the wind and rain. Took us almost two years to do this following a deferment but worth the wait!

Great half for targeting a PB and very scenic to boot. Excellent organisation but could do with waves based on estimated finish time.

My first local half marathon, well organised, a lovely flat if not downhill route, encouragement from the volunteers at the aid station. Be prepared.for the final cheeky incline at the end.
